About Me

Lance's better looking and more intelligent yet slightly slower alter ego. OK, now for real. Everyone starts these things out saying they are laid back, easy to get along with, love to travel, blah, blah, blah. If even half of those people were being completey honest this would be a much more relaxed town! So just to be different I'll be honest. I am a very motivated person, 90% of the time I am easy to get along with and understanding. But I am never a push-over. I have opinions, I don't mind sharing them or discussing them-in fact I enjoy it when both people do that! I have a great job that I take seriously and sometimes work too much, but I make sure it never completely takes over. I have great dogs that make sure I am either home 10 hours after leaving, or regretting I wasn’t home 10 hours after leaving! Getting them was the best decsion I ever made. They keep me sane and make me laugh at least once a day. I love challenging myself both mentally and physically. Physical training is an integral part of my life. I'm not a gym rat though. Sure, gyms are nice but I’d rather be outside. I’ve been racing bikes for about 8 years and I am on a local team (Squadra Coppi). Yes, we’re the "insane", identically dressed “idiots” slowing all the surburban church goers down on Sunday mornings. I won't even write what we usually get called from the window of an SUV or minivan! You’ve never seen angry until you’ve seen someone have to actually do the speed limit at 8am on a Sunday. I’m not really a religious person, but I think God would understand if you're 5 minutes late and NOT guilty of vehicular manslaughter! Call me crazy I guess. On the cultural and mental side I love reading, I have season tickets to the NSO, I try to see the new museum exhibits and I am a huge movie and music fan. Old, new, foreign, it doesn’t matter-I love movies and music. I've lived here since finishing grad school and I love it. DC has tons to offer in the arts, culture, and entertainment. Most of those ‘laid-back’ people are too busy working to enjoy DC (which keeps the lines short). I would love to say I never miss a show or exhibit, but I at least make sure I don’t miss everything that comes to town. I bought a house a 3 years ago in Chevy Chase, DC, so that is another thing I enjoy spending time working on, cursing at, paying for, etc. If you think we share some interests drop me a line. Thanks!

My Interests

Bike racing, MTBing, music (live or recorded), movies old and new, modern and impressionistic art, and my dogs.

I'd like to meet:

I'm not picky. Any rich supermodel who loves athletes and working out. And, I'd like to meet this guy!

Music:

Classical, classic rock, jazz, modern, and almost anything but rap and country. I just can't find the music in rap or country. It's just noise!

Movies:

LOTR, Bringing up Baby, African Queen, Garden State, Great Escape, Matrix trilogy, and anything in my collection-which is up to about 100 DVDs.

Heroes:

Mario Cipollini. Bonus points if you know who that is.
