It's a fine line, between clever and ... stupid

About Me

Lord... make me pure, but not yet.OK, so, HASSE BILLING, that's me, born in Sweden, College in MN, USA, Film School in London, UK. Half Venezuelan/Colombian, half Swedish (although my latino blood is pumping well below my ghost white skin).I'm....I actually hate these "describe yourself" things. They're designed to make people sound like beauty contestants. (this is the third time I write this). Or maybe there's just something wrong with me for caring so much about what other people are going to read.So basically all I will say is that whatever you thought of me before, whether you liked me or hated me, whether you slept with me or slapped me, whether you saw me or ignored me, I am now what people call a film director. Now it may sound fancy, because some people doing what I do actually get money and little naked gold men for it. But until that point, if ever, someone like me will prostitute themselves for no money, put their name and career on the line on a film that won't pay them anything. And why do we do that? Because we like misery. At least I think I do. The boy with the golden hair and the bright sunshine smile is gone. It his place is a man (sort of) with a brooding face and a cynical disposition. It's nothing personal, I'm still a generally happy person. Or maybe I pretend to be miserable so that when I realize I'm actually quite cheery, it's just another pleasant surprise!Have the best day! My Interests

Film, TV, Theatre, Musicals (in moderation), Music, Swimming, Football (or "Soccer"), well, most sports, writing, Jenny, and, oh, did I mention Movies?

I'd like to meet:

YOU!

Music:

Always: Michael Jackson, Robbie Williams, Mono, Hoobastank, Beatles, Green Day, Ricky Martin, ELO, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Coldplay, El Canto del Loco, Black Eyed Peas. Also Mozart, Bach and many film scores, mostly by Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, James Newton Howard, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Christopher Young, Steve Jablonsky, Vangelis, Thomas Newman, James Horner.

Movies:

Well, if I could name 100 the list would still be too short...so here are the top ones, in no particular order: Fight Club, Closer, In the Bedroom, Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno), When Harry Met Sally, The Lord of the Rings, Some Like it Hot, The Descent, Desperado, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Singin' in the rain, Requiem for a Dream, Spinal Tap.And here are a few more that I feel I need to mention: The Ring, Frequency, Gattaca, Lilja-4-Ever, Panic Room, Seven, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, The Exorcist, Finding Neverland, Thesis, Once Upon a Time in the West, Two Brothers, Office Space, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Television:

There's really only ONE show worth being faithful to: 24. Others that have peaked my interest, and which, well, I've liked: Lost, Deadwood, Friends, Alias, Simpsons, Sex and the City, Walking with Dinosaurs, Secrets of WWII. Classics include: Fawlty Towers, Monty Python's Flying Circus, A-Team!, Batman (60's series), Zorro (B&W), and all the Swedish classics such as Pippi Longstocking, Emil i Lönneberga and Saltkråkan.

Books:

I just read a really good book called "The United States of Europe". Very entertaining and interesting. I can also recommend the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik, the first book is called "His Majesty's Dragon". I've read more books, but I don't want to crowd the space.

Heroes:

Robert Rodriguez, Peter Jackson, Jim Caviezel, Ingmar Bergman, my family, and Jenny. They all influence me or inspire me in different ways.
