Pagkakaisa...
Is the Filipino culture organization at Southwestern College. Filipino or not, everyone is welcomed and encouraged to join and participate in our events.
If you are interested in joining you can start by attending our general body meetings held every Tuesday at 11:00-11:50am in room 566. If you can't make the meetings, always keep an eye out for posters advertising events on campus and bulletins reminding you not to miss out! Or you could also come by the cubical 12 and meet and hangout with those there. Just don't forget to bring a SMILE!
Pagkakaisa was founded in 1968 by students in search of political and cultural awareness. These students, few in number, knew that their strength was to be found within each other. They named their organization,
"Pagkakaisa ," meaning
"Strength in Unity." The organization became a voice for the students and the Filipino community, as
Pagkakaisa remains so today. Now, thirty-eight years later, we are striving to keep the goals and objectives established by those founders in 1968. In unity, we can accomplish these goals and lead for another thirty years.
