I learn and teach.
Interpret this how you wish:All worldly life is unsatisfactory, disjointed, containing suffering. There is a cause of suffering, which is attachment or desire (tanha) rooted in ignorance. There is an end of suffering, which is Nirvana. There is a path that leads out of suffering, known as the Noble Eightfold Path.
Right Understanding Right Thought Right Speech Right Action Right Livelihood Right Effort Right Mindfulness Right Concentration
The Five Precepts: To refrain from harming living creatures. To refrain from taking that which is not freely given. To refrain from sexual misconduct. To refrain from incorrect speech. To refrain from intoxicants which lead to loss of mindfulness.
Keep in mind that you cannot learn without knowledge of these things. Perspective. Experience. Follow the path that you are ready for; take a vow if you can keep it without looking back. You are not worse for not making a commitment you cannot yet keep.
