The difference between someone who hates coffee and someone who loves it is a lot of sugar.

About Me

I'm a musician to the fullest extent of the word. I play bass, guitar, piano, organ, drums, cello, marimba, and vibraphone. I compose music, record it for fun, and arrange tunes. I'm really into jazz and classical music and I've acquired a great fondness for funk and other sub-genres associated with funk. I hold a great respect for the English language and am distressed when people use it incorrectly. However, though I am very particular about grammar and punctuation, I seriously lack skills at spelling. From the looks of it, I have a larger than average vocabulary and love learning new words. I can just sit down with a dictionary for long lengths of time and amuse myself by paging through and coming across obscure and archaic words that not many people use. I also really like getting dressed up. I love mens' fashion and have a large collection of ties and suits. That is, large for somebody my age and economic status. If I get a chance, I'll dress up and very likely, over-dress and out-dress everybody else. I'm just like that.

My Interests

Composing, performing, and listening to music; biking; jamming; sleeping; being with that special someone; pondering; discovering; chilling; learning (useful stuff); and looking dapper

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to say sorry. I probably sound like I have hate, but all I got is love on the inside. All I strive for is equality in every aspect of life. Equality not in the sence that everybody has exactly the same, but rather the idea of "different but equal." So I guess I'd like to meet people who really made those ideals happen; people like Ghandi and Mother Therisa. However, I don't really know what language they spoke, so maybe I'd like to meet a polyligual translator as well.

Music:

I listen to a lot of music. Every time I'm doing something that doesn't require all of my brain like getting dressed, combing my hair, I listen so stuff. Compared to some collections I've seen, I don't have very many CDs, but I'd say it's a modest sum. It consists of jazz, swing, jazz-rock fusion, latin-jazz fusion, jazz-funk fusion, and a bit of classical. I can't stand what people call "rap music" because IT'S FREAKIN' NOT MUSIC! It's just rhythm and poetry: two elements of music, but not enough to constitute music. If you think of it as soully that, then it's barely acceptable. It sure could do without all the cussing and misoginy. Some of my favorite MUSICIANS are Herbie Hancock, Duke Ellington, Santana, the Bee Gees, and Greig. I could go on a bit longer, but you're probably bored of reading this already.

Movies:

North by Northwest

Television:

I don't watch a whole lot these days simply because I don't have the time. But when I do watch, my favorites are Family Guy, The Price is Right, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood (his music is pure genious!), Jeopardy, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, and The Weather Channel Local on the 8's.

Books:

Webster's New English Dictionary and quite possibly the whole Harry Potter collection

Heroes:

Shelby Stanley, Reuben Cooper Jr., Tim Gilbert, Rev. E George Krause, my father, eldest brother Rob, and Jesus, the biggest, most bestest hero of them all.
