Keeping sane (more or less)...to do that, I write, stay as close to the ocean as I can, listen to the blues and classic rock, run miles and miles, hang out with my nephew, text message my baby brother, share a drink with my other brothers, visit with my friends, take road trips, practice power yoga, quote Seinfeld, clean my house, make people dinner and find a way to incorporate chocolate into multiple meals every single day. I also mix a mean cosmopolitan and have been known to occasionally enjoy a tasty beverage in the company of friends while watching the Pats, the Yanks (or the Sox!) or the USC Trojans. =)
Today, I'd like to meet my boy Darius so I can make the O.C. duo happy, and, finally, finally, finally get this story out of my head!!!
Bon Jovi, Springsteen and Dylan. Massachusett's own Frank Morey Band. The Doors. Stevie Ray Vaughan. Johnny Cash. Roy Orbison. RI's Beaver Brown Band. I love blues-folk and folk-blues and just the blues, classic rock and early 90s alternative. I like non-twangy country, AC/DC and "18 and Life" by Skid Row.
Top 5...Goodfellas, the Godfather, Streetcar Named Desire, Rebel Without a Cause and Good Will Hunting. In no particular order...Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Shawshank Redemption, Backdraft, Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Eddie & the Cruisers, The Outsiders, Tombstone, Gettysburg, Young Guns II, Unforgiven, The Departed, Mystic River
Homicide, NYPD Blue, Deadwood, Rescue Me, Sopranos, the Young Riders...Sex & the City, Seinfeld, King of the Hill, Family Guy, What Not to Wear, Clean Sweep and That 70s show (see, I'm not all that dark!)
"Memnoch the Devil" by Anne Rice (along with most everything she's written as Anne Rice), the Belgariad and Mallorean series by David Eddings, Michael Shaara's "The Killer Angels", James McPherson's "Battle Cry of Freedom", the Harry Potter series. Recently, I read the 'new' Nirvana bio by Everett True, and I have a ridiculously high stack of books to make it through before they fall over on top of me!
Hero is such a strong word...my favorite people are Nephew Jack because he's just the best, my brothers because they never bullsh*t me, my parents because they put the family before everything else, my friends because they stand behind me no matter how stupid I'm being...
