GUMX

Energetic sk8 punk trio...Korea's finest!!

About Me

Gumx was formed in 1996 and has the sprit of true melodic punk like the godfather nofx, hi standard...etc. Originally called "Gum" until signed with Dream On Records in 2002, the band consists of 3 "Lee" brothers (ironically, theses 3 skaters had same family name and same age!)The band's cutting-edge punk rock is not only the most powerful and melodic but also perfectly combined with catchy and beautiful chorus. The tragic lyrics, which is based on the true story from Lee Yong Won (vo/g) is significant vehicle of their outstanding music. The bridge of their uniqueness is connected between neo punk hero,
Greenday and melocore heros from Farwreck Chords and Pizza of Death.
The first single cut "hymn to love", which was loved in Japan and Korea both
was been "song of the week" from Japanese' various radio stations
and was the theme song of Japan's favorite sports show "Supersoccer".
The debut album "What's been up?", which was released in march, 2003
through toy's factory (Japan) re-issued only after 5 months. These non-
stop melocore skaters, Gumx, had the most successful show at the Fuji rock festival 2003, toured Japan with the Suicide Machines, 10 feet, Asian
kung fu Generation, etc. and played at Busan international rock festival
in Korea with Arch Enemy, Soilwork, etc. with new drummer "Gun" in 2003.
The year 2003 was the most successful year for Gumx and they're in writing
mode for the follow up to 2002's "What's been up" and 2nd video clip
for "Girl" (exclusive track for Korea) is finally done and waiting for
airing on music channels.
Gumx will take you to an energetic sk8 punk world that nobody has ever experienced!
