I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships and Friends

About Me

I have an oddball sense of humor, and am pretty laid back. I am a big dork. Some day I'll buy myself a classic car. I'm really bad at saving money. I hate schedules and love being spontaneous. I love to travel, and have ventured cross-country in cars, on airplanes, on buses, and on trains. I moved back to Madison in February of '08. I have an apartment in the Atwood neighborhood that I share with Edsel and the fishes. I'll be going to MATC this fall ('08) for photography...

My Interests

Creating neat and useful stuff out of "junk". Making awesome meals out of whatever's around. Watching movies, especially at a drive-in! Taking snap shots and learning about photography. Going on drives with no destination, and a friend, looking for cool and wacky stuff to photograph. (We tend to tresspass a lot when we do this.) Camping, bowling, darts, and unscheduled road trips! I do a lot of avoiding: responsibility, cops, and Wal-Mart. I love stand-up comedy. (I secretly want to do my own stand-up some day.) Sleeping is good. I like clothes that fit, and hair that does not hang in one's face. I like the smell of auto shops. I collect license plates, wheat pennies, and records. I've got a few tattoos, and want several more. I love sending and getting postcards.

I'd like to meet:

Other people who are into Rockabilly and the like, who live in the Madison area. Anyone who wants to meet up with me and go see live bands. Also, anyone into Edsels. (check out my group at: groups.myspace.com/itsanedsel)

Music:

Rock n' roll, rockabilly, some psychobilly, ska, swing, some older punk, oldies, old country, some hard rock, and Too Much Joy.

Movies:

Almost anything with Johnny Depp, The Princess Bride, American Beauty, A Christmas Story. Trains, Planes, and Automobiles. Cry Baby, Snatch, The Evil Dead trilogy, Most Kevin Smith movies. Suburbia (the original), One Hour Photo, Amores Perros, films by Tim Burton, The Hudsucker Proxy. Dirty Pretty Things, Falling Down, Office Space, Another State of Mind, Amelie. Down With Love, Pirates of the Carribean (I want to hate Disney, I really do), Death to Smoochy, Pump Up The Volume, Blast From the Past, all three Back to the Future. O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Big Lebowski, Resevoir Dogs, Hairspray, Cool Hand Luke. Harold and Maude, A Day Without A Mexican, Igby Goes Down, The World's Fastest Indian. Most recently: Motel Hell, and Faster Pusscat! Kill, Kill!

Television:

The Class(Canceled after one season.) Late Night with Conan O'Brian, The Sarah Silverman Program, The Simpsons, Sex In The City, Daria, Family Guy, Taxi, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Quantum Leap, Street Smarts, Myth Busters, Cheers!, and Frasier. Old TV Land/Nick-at-Nite shows like The Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched, Leave it to Beaver, and I Love Lucy. Once in a while I watch weird educational stuff on PBS, the Discovery Channel, or the History Channel. Occasional shows featuring classic car restoration. Random cartoons on [adult swim]. Newly addicted to the network show Two and a half Men.

Books:

I recommend: Evasion (anon), Cracked (Drew Pinsky), The Five People You Meet In Heaven (Mitch Albom), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (Jonathan Safran Foer), and most recently I've fallen in love (make fun all you want) with the Harry Potter series. I'm also in the middle of reading Stiff - Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach, which I highly recommend.

Heroes:

Ralph from A Christmas Story, for his relentless optimism, despite lesson after lesson that life will keep crapping on you; and Jonathan Safran Foer, for creating the charming and brilliant Oskar Schell.
