Although his name may sound young, DJ Tom E Boy (Tommy Edwards) is no child to music. The New York native's passion for music and Dj'ing began in the late 80's. By the age of 15, Tommy was Dj'ing guest spots through out the New York area. He was called Tommy boy by the older DJ's and promoters due to his young age but, was quickly being known for his ability to work a dance floor. It would not take to long before he landed a few residencies including a 7 year stay at a local popular Staten Island night spot called Kokamos as well as a residency in the Engine room at New York City's legendary night club, The Palladium. It was in that very same club where Tommy met many of the most influential people in the music industry including life long friends. N.Y.C.'s legendary DJ Glenn Friscia & one of the best remixers/producers in the business, DJ Mike Cruz. Tommy's DJ carrer would soon after gain him a sponsorship by the U.S. distributor of U.K. based mixer company, Intimidation Mixers. Tommy was sent to various Dj expos and clubs through out the U.S. demonstrating both product and his mixing talents. It was from that point when he knew that playing music was not enough.. It was time to make it. Tommy began is track productions and remixes as small add ins to his Dj sets but, soon would soon grow popular to the ears of many when he was added to the roster of DJ's on Sirius Satellite Radio in 2003. Adding seductive Tribal beats and his vocal remixes to his mix show sets including his "Sirius Radio Only" Remixes like Renee Stakey's "lonely Dream", Nicole Sponberge's "Resurrection", Evanescence's " Bring me to life" Madonna's "Ray of light", Nelly Furtado's "Say it right" and India's "Viva la Puerto Rico". Tommy got such a great response from his India remix at the 2006 winter music conference that DJ Mike Cruz added it to his mix compilation cd titled "Many Moods" that was recorded in Tommy's recording studio. In 2006, Tommy created his own production company known as Global Gruves Music Productions (GGM). Since the birth of his production company, Tommy has created remixes and has worked with artists & labels like: DJ Mike Cruz, Andrea Big, Dj Glenn Friscia, Adam Barta, Jason Antone, J. , Chris Brophy & Infective media (U.K) , Teri Brown, Ilona Europa, Sonny Padilla, Jeanie Tracy & Larry Batiste , Georgie Porgie & Music Plant Group, Act 2 Records, Frank Shofner, Samantha Newark, Sabre Entertainment and Deet Promotions.
