About Me

Gosh, what to say? I'm a lover of Jesus Christ, a firm believer in the words of the Holy Bible and an absolute failure at life. There is no way I would be the person I am today without the strength of my Lord, he has taken my failures and turned them into triumphs. I still fall short of His love, every day, but He continues to see me through, even after I have done everything I can to push Him away, he has always been there for me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was born in Germany, my father being in the military. We moved back to the states when I was two years old, spent some time with my family in Indiana and Alabama, then got transferred over the good 'ol Fort Ord for two years. When dad left the army we moved here to boulder creek so that he could work for the computer company Borland. Because we moved so much my parents started homeschooling my brother and sister, and eventually me. Even after we bought a house in Felton and settled in they decided to keep me out of the public school system, a choice I am very grateful for. Starting in Jr. High I took HM classes, joined a sports group, played Ultimate Frisbee with my father and his friends, as well as took part in various church activities. Socialization was never a problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About two years ago I became a Cabrillo student with the ultimate goal of nursing in mind, but things change... I am now, God willing, going to pursue a career in ASL Interpretation. We will see what the future holds.

My Interests

Soooo many things. I love music, I sing mostly Classical/Opera... and no, I don't play an instrument. Other interests... Drama, definitely. My Mom was a drama teacher for many years... Writing. Nope, I'm not gonna go into more detail on that one. XP Books, I love books. Especially old books. The best smell in the world is the scent of an antique book. I sort of almost but not really collect them, however my lack of money has made that very, very hard.Another very large interest in my life right now is ASL (American Sign Language.) With the help of a wonderful class, as well as some great deaf people, I am slowly learning my way around Sign Language. I have a visual processing learning disorder that makes it very hard, but how could I not learn with such great teachers?

Music:

Hmm... Music I enjoy. Well, I adore hymns.... well, some of them, and some choruses. Besides that I really don't enjoy much Christian music.. the style does not appeal to me. The only christian band I really like is Christafari, a wonderful Reggae group. Opera is a passionate love in the music department, as well as classicals and anything from the sixties. My all time favorite band is Simon and Garfunkel, followed closely by the Beatles.

Books:

Oh my... This could go on forever. The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, deffinately, and of course Narnia, The C.S Lewis Space Trilogy (If you havent read it, go out there and buy it right now!), The Screw Tape Letters, 'Till We Have Faces (My favorite S.C Lewis work of art), Phantom Tolebooth, Anything by Peter David, Robert Asprin or Pierce Anthony, Freckles, Anything Dickons (of course), Blue Like Jazz, The Works of Adam Dickstein, The Duckboys, Far side, Calvin and Hobbs (YES! They count!), My mother's plays and Sketches and sooooo much more!

Heroes:

Mother Teresa first and foremost. Sounds cheesy I know, but if I could pattern my life after her example I would be very happy. (Jesus, of course, gets first ranking, but that goes without saying.) My parents, whom I love and adore... and sometimes want to murder XD, are also big heros in my world, they have taught me so much and I hope I can apply their lessons to my life and become even just the slightest bit as wonderful as they are. Other examples in my life would be C.S Lewis, Don Miller (he wrote an amazing Christian book called Blue Like Jazz, I would suggest it to anyone), My Pastor Randy Kay, My Teacher and official butt-kicker Mr. S who spent three years trying to hammer philosophy into my head, and my ASL teacher Mo Moscho...something. I'll look that up later.
