deerhoof, lightning bolt, radiohead, weird crap like that, and progressive music, particularly of the heavier metal variety, like symphony x and dream theater. I'd like to explore the genre of folk music and fuse it with strange, distorted lyrics and maybe add a little techno to it. I also enjoy ambient/shoegaze music like Sigur Ros, in my opinion the greatest group of musicians on the planet at this time. Video game music is also awesome, MIDI style is the best. Strange time signatures are a great deviation from the norm of the emo and the "hardcore" and the contemporary punk rock styles that i can't stand listening to.
