Frey is live music with machines.
Blending field recordings and instruments, earth-loop hums and static, Frey improvises and jams, working with accidents, mistakes, and the rhythm of time to construct pieces of subtle warmth and unique vision.
Frey likes to take things and figure out how they work and then get them to do things they were never meant to do. He's very into circuit bending at the moment, and is going to run a workshop on it very very soon.
Frey also makes installations, turning spaces into musical instruments. This is Sounds Like Light, Lights & Sound which won Best Visual Arts at the Wellington Fringe Festival 2007.
