Influences: Adam Schumaker as a songwriter was born in the world of ska rock, attributing his beginning skills to Second Rate (1999) and finding his voice with Mr. Meano and the Clodhoppers (2000-2002).
His influences range from classical music, to Reel Big Fish, to bizarre theoretical concepts that you might find in textbooks. In the past few years, Elvis Costello, Elliott Smith, Ben Folds, Jeff Buckley and others have shaped his style, though he probably sounds nothing, absolutely nothing like those previously mentioned.
Sounds Like: ...if Arnold Schoenberg believed in tonality and played guitar... maybe. However, Adam's songs have been said to resemble the works of Ben Folds, Paul Simon, and others, but Adam likes to think his songs sound like him for the most part.
