Close your eyes and try to imagine the sight, sound and smell of a 1970's Plymouth Road Runner laying down a patch of rubber on a deserted stretch of black top while Bachman -Turner Overdrive's "Roll on down the highway" blasts from the 8 track. If you can do that, then your pretty damn close to "getting" Big Rig.Formed in early 2005 when ex-South Dakota rednecks Pete (guitar and vocals) and Bobby Bayge (drums) hooked up with New Mexico native Mick Starrigger (bass), Big Rig's sound is a fresh yet strangely familiar blend of riff-heavy guitars, whisper to a scream vocals, hypnotic, unhinged drumming and solid, melodic bass lines. Big Rig play alternative rock in the vein of Wolfmother and the White Stripes while channeling the classic rock sounds of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
