Since 1993 the Austrian Gloom Rock bastards JACK FROST have established a trademark with their five albums, three European tours, hundreds of club shows and festival appearances (a.o. Summer Breeze, Party.San and Wave Gotik Treffen). Musically Jack Frost never perfectly fit into the doom metal genre, having strong British Gothic- and Wave-sounds of the 70s and 80s in their sound. But also their monolithic sound and their „loser“-attitude, their „who cares?“-attitude as well as their very own interpretation of Rock‘n‘Roll have made Jack Frost rebels in the metal scene within their many label changes. Maybe it‘s because of that, why the 4-piece don‘t play the safe way on „Wannadie Songs“ but surprisingly heavy and unusual stuff. There are the typical Jack Frost mid-tempo blasters on the album but the speed of the songs have turned slower again on their 6th studio album. It delivers a preferation of strong arrangements, emotional and minimalistic accoustic parts, bursting guitarchords in a deep black slow-mo as well as well-portioned cello and piano parts. Jack Frost have delivered their darkest, most depressive album for a long time - but also their heaviest album yet or, if people want to think so, the soundtrack for suicide. Discography:
