I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hello again! It's time for an update. It's been 8 months now in Miami and so far so good. I'm still getting situated but with time, everything will pan out. As most of you may know, I moved down from Chicago. I currently live in the Miami Lakes area. I recently changed jobs here. I now work for Carnival Cruise Lines as a Personal Vacation Planner. Great company! I used to work for a travel company as a Group Account Executive, booking groups on cruises so changing to Carnival was an easy transition.I am from East Chicago, IN...about 20 min from Chicago. I moved to Chicago when I was 18 years old...lived there for about 8 years...moved to Virginia Beach, VA; lived there for about 2 years...moved back to Chicago last July...and now I'm here in Miami...what to do? What to do? I am happy to say that I started school again. I'm taking a course online this semester. It's different, I have to say but it's convenient and by doing it this way, I'll be able to finish faster. It's a matter of diciplining yourself. I'm loving Miami so far! It's a beautiful place. The people I've met so far have been great...developing into great friendships!I believe that everything happens for a reason. But when one thing happens, that's not it....it doesn't stop there....something can change again, and again, it happened for a reason! People are in your life for a reason, whether it was for a minute, a day, a month, a year, whatever, they are in your life for a reason so I try not to take that time for granted....I would like to say that I'm a very social person. I can make friends very easily. I know many faces as a lot of people also remember mine. I am very open-minded, down to earth and friendly. Calm and patient....Love to be around friends and family.I'm a thinker....always have stuff on my mind...past, present, future. I am so indecisive which I hate sometimes....I'm the type of person that likes to make everyone happy before myself. I worry about what everyone thinks. That's it for now! Enjoy MY space!

My Interests

I like to do a lot! Keeping myself busy in life...I like to dance. I can dance to anything really and have a blast but Salsa was the thing to do. Back in Chicago, almost every night, I would go out...There was always somewhere to go and dance Salsa...there probably still is...I'm sure. But I remember, Tues was 720, Wed was Inta's/Buzz, Thurs was Excalibur, Fri was 720, Ah ha...Sunday was Andromeda's! (I'm bringing back memories here!) It was so much fun.I love Chicago....there's so much to do! Plays, dinner, shopping, festivals, just going to get some coffee at the 24 hour Starbucks! The Ravinia is another great place to go to. I've seen some great singers there....Buena Vista Social Club was one of them! Traveling is my thang! I've done a lot of land travel...been to Cancun, Miami, Disney World, Las Vegas, New York, Paris and Scotland so far. Now, I'm getting into cruising....Just did my FIRST 6 night Western Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Liberty. Wow! Cruising is great! So much to do on the ship, it's like a floating city...PLUS, you're able to visit different ports all around the world...name it and they'll get you there. On my cruise I went to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, Georgetown, Grand Cayman and Costa Maya Mexico. Beautiful places! I can't wait to travel more! Maybe next time I'll do the 12-night Medditerranean! Let's see, what else? I love to hang out with my friends and family. Dinner parties, BBQ's...it's the best. I'm a family/friend kind of gal! I love to be around all of that!

I'd like to meet:

Okay...how about "MY" Matt Damon, Benjamin Bratt, Mark Ruffalo, Jay Hernandez, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers....hee hee...wishful thinking right?Well, who I have on my friend's list are either my family or friends. I'm on here because I want to keep in touch with whom I know. So there's no need for me to fancy it up here, although I've added a FEW minor touches. hee hee :o) This MySpace is amazing though, I'd have to say. I've bumped into so many people from back home and Chicago. Brings back a lot of memories! It's nice to be able to catch up with all of you!

Music:

I can listen to anything really....I can enjoy latin music just as much as Rock/Alternative. I'm very open minded when it comes to music....If the music fits the mood, I'm all for it then! Z

Movies:

I'm sorry guys, I like girly movies....some action I'll watch, don't get me wrong. I also enjoy watching holiday movies. I can always sit down and watch some of the best like, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Pretty Woman....catch my drift! LOL

Television:

Lately, I have not been into watching TV...keeping busy outside of it. I was into watching Grey's Anatomy but my previous job took place of it. Although I'm free in the evenings to watch it now, it doesn't make sense to...I'll just have to buy the season DVD. :) The shows I enjoy and can still laugh to is Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Friends and some others....

Books:

I don't get around to reading much.....surfing the web takes the place of it....LOL..how sad! But I can say that my favorite book that I've read in awhile is "The First Time" by Joy Fielding. I started reading another book of hers - Grand Avenue...Um, not liking this one too much...a little depressing. One book I recommend is "Now, Discover Your Strengths" or "Discover Your Sales Strengths" I've read both and they're both really good. Good insight on how to use your talents to build your strengths and apply it in the business/sales world.

Heroes:

Hats off to my mother! I've learned a lot from her. She's a very strong women. I look at everyone's elses life as well.....I've learned a lot from them also. There's been people that have been through a whirl wind of bad situations and still keep there head up. I admire that a lot in a person. Everything happens for a reason. Life is not gonna come to you easy. Life's a challenge and in order for you to come out on top, you have to go into it knowing that you'll run into different obstacles. That's just life for ya! Just remember that God will not give you more than you can handle...
