Also guitar virtuoso Michael Ripoll who has shared the stage and recording studio with countless other artists such as Babyface, Stevie Wonder, Carrie Underwood, Mary J. Blige, and Amy Grant. The album was mixed and mastered by Bob St. John who is a recipient of over 40 gold and platinum awards as well as numerous Grammy and Billboard awards and nominations. Bob is best known for his mixing/engineering work in the American market for Extreme, Duran Duran and Collective Soul and for his work mixing/engineering work in the Latin market for Bacilos and Black Guayaba. The album is due to be released in the coming months under Chicago-based independent Record Label, MASS ENTERTAINMENT MUSIC.
Born in Tampico, Mexico, Jesus Enriquez began his professional career at age 12 with several traditional Mexican bands. In 1990, Jesus Enriquez relocated to Chicago where he was introduced to Salsa music and its sensual qualities. He learned to appreciate the style of music and began singing with several local Salsa bands.
By 1993, Jesus had formed his own Salsa band and signed a record deal with the RMM label, which was home to Salsa legends such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz and Oscar D'Leon. His debut CD, "Motivos Para Soñar", was released in 1994 where his single “De Que Manera Te Olvido†peaked at position 26 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks Chart. Jesus was quickly accepted by Salsa fans and was praised for his silky voice and the serenity he brought to each song. He soon became known as the Mexican Salsero.
Although Jesus was comfortable with his found success, he wasn't content with singing mainstream Salsa. His passion for Ballads and Boleros caused him to draw inspiration from romantic singers like Roberto Carlos, Jose Jose, and Luis Miguel. His own signature style of romantic Salsa emerged from those influences and was evident in his 1996 sophomore release, "Nada Sera Igual". Popular tracks included "Como Fiera, Como Dama" and "Me Va A Extrañar", a cover of Argentine-Venezuelan romantic singer Ricardo Montaner. After the release of his second CD, Jesus Enriquez was catapulted to Salsa stardom as he toured all over the world, performing alongside the legendary Salsa stars that initially attracted him to the tropical music.
In recent years, Jesus Enriquez decided to refocus on the music that he grew up with and for which he still had a strong passion, Latin Ballads. He has received the award for "Best Latin Entertainer" by the Chicago Music Awards as well as other awards for his vocal ability.
