THE BLACKSMITHS

AS IRON SHARPENS IRON

About Me

The Blacksmiths were formed back in 1991 originally as a trio. In 1994 the band decided to adopt a new and unique way of ministering as a Christian band by reducing their core membership to just two and adding what they call a "stable" of musicians. At any given time throughout the years they have had multiple musicians that they could call on at the same time to play live concerts with, usually two or more for guitar, bass, and drummer, making it much easier to do live concerts anytime and anywhere. They've been in music ministry for the last 20 years (first as The Resistance) and have had the opportunity to work with and minister with many different artists like, Eric Champion, Ginny Owens, Sierra, Russ Lee, The Rez Band, The Normals, Kendall Payne, Rebecca St. James, and Tree63 to name a few and to minister in many different places around the country including in Memphis and Nashville, TN at The "Grand Ole Opry" House. They've also had the honor of playing at the "Pageant Of Peace" Christmas Celebration on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C. as well as doing concert tours throughout Florida and up and down the East coast. They also created, produced and hosted J.A.M.FEST, Maine's largest Christian music festival, from 2001-2004 at Funtown, U.S.A. in Saco, Maine.

This has got to stop. This is killing our kids. Take it from me-I know. When I was a teenager, almost 30 years ago, pornography was my life. It consumed me. I was addicted to it and it led to the destruction of my life during those times and to the life of my younger brother. In my late teens I exposed him to everything that I was exposed to. And everything that was in those books, magazines, and movies that warped my mind and distorted my views about sex helped to destroy him. The things that I did and caused him to do should never have happened. I should have protected him from those things...but I didn't. I wish that I could go back in time and change all of it, but I can't. I am so sorry for the things that I did because of the pornography that was an ever present thing in my life. Though I accepted the Lord into my life shortly thereafter, and he about 5 years after that, the problems and the pain caused by that addiction of mine to pornography has lasted a lifetime. The shame, guilt, and pain can rear their heads at any time. Please pray for everyone that this evil, that comes straight from the pits of hell, has hurt and caused to have so much pain. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT JESUS TOOK MY LIFE AND CHANGED ME FOREVER AND HE CAN TAKE EVERYONE'S LIVES AND CHANGE THEM AND RESTORE THEM TO WHAT HE CREATED THEM TO BE AND HELP EVERY ONE OF THEM GET THROUGH THOSE HARD TIMES CAUSED BY SUCH SIN. PRAISE GOD!
