Out of place and underdressed.

About Me

I like Dr. Pepper, Tegan and Sara, bleach blond hair, curly wurlies, the first day of sunshine, Margaret Atwood, Alan Rickman, bookshops, dynamite boogaloo, Ribena, breasts, the colour blue, cuddles, snow, noodles, kissing, Brighton, roast dinner, studying, girls with guitars, fairy lights, the interesting thoughts of edward monkton, taking photographs, Toronto, being in the shower, falling over in my dreams and waking up, angry chick music, going to other people..s lectures, candles, getting letters, oreos, the word fuck, sticking anything and everything to my bedroom wall, boardshorts and long shorts, visiting various European cities just because I can, sweatbands, cherry coke, Summer, foreign public transport systems, Sharpies, people watching, Sushi on Bloor, Cheetos, felt tip pens, clean sheets of white paper, my iPod, vodka, etnies, baggy jeans, my Jesus bag, boobs, being a dyke, fauxhawks, hair straighteners, yellow school buses, Starbucks, girls who like girls, sunshine, idiot mittens, msn, text messages, correct grammar, drag kings, transboys, tetris, and boxers.
I don..t like the colour orange, tea, chinese food, girls who won..t show their affection in public, arguing with my friends, high heels, running out of clean socks, orange squash, cheese and onion crisps, the way people abbreviate in text messages, or packing to move house yet again.
Yes, I..ve had a fauxhawk. I have my tongue pierced and I..ve been known to wear a trucker hat at a rakish angle. And the other day I heard someone say 'pukka' and now can't get rid of the urge to watch Jamie Oliver.

My Interests

I like to sleep. A lot. That..s probably the most important thing, but somehow in a city like Brighton it just doesn..t work out that way. In Vancouver? Yeah, it's easily done.
When I..m awake I work, I read, I watch tv, and I work a couple of jobs that will eventually make my brain drip from my ears. Seriously.
I keep meaning to get back on a snowboard, but so far it's eluding me. Oh, and I trampoline lots, keep skinning my elbows and my knees trying to learn new somersaults, but there..s nothing like it. I like to ride around on my bmx and pretend I can do anything more than just ride it in a straight line and make it round corners safely, which I quite blatantly can..t...
I watch a rather unhealthy amount of Buffy. And Eddie Izzard... I like to go to bars and clubs and occasionally dance on the podium like a crazy person. I spend an ridiculous amount of time in coffee shops. But I mostly just want to hang out with my friends, in a bar, a club or snuggled up the sofa. Snuggling, yes, that..s definitely a hobby of mine. I really hate writing these things and right now it..s not even 10am, I can..t think straight and I really should be asleep...

I'd like to meet:

Almost certainly not your band.

And not you if you tAlK lIkE tHiS.

I'm not just going to add you so that I can have a gajillion friends. Message me. Interest me. Then just maybe I'll add you back.

Oh, and it would have been these two. But I did. I'm the one with the hands you can see. Yep, the one that kills the concept... : )

Movies:

My favourite film ever is Dead Poets Society. On a shallow level I like films like Bring It On, Gia, Girl Interrupted, Bound - you know the kind... I *loved* Love Actually. I think it might be because it's so very English, like me... Or possibly because I wish Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson were my aunt and uncle. But I'm A Cheerleader makes me smile every time. Beaches makes me cry. And The Princess Bride rocks my world, for so very many reasons. Anything I can watch over and over. I'm that kind of girl.

Television:

CSI. I can't get enough. Buffy's a long-term love. QI makes me laugh out loud altogether too often. It turns out Neighbours sucks since I stopped being a student. The O.C.

Books:

Anything by Margaret Atwood, L. M. Montgomery or Enid Blyton. I like reading Chalet School books over and over again, and I've been caught reading Malory Towers too many times to count. I also love Sebastian Faulks, and Jacqueline Wilson writes amazing books for children. I love Carol Ann Duffy for poetry, and Sarah Kane's drama is astounding. I like Sarah Waters, not because it's lesbian necessarily, but because of the way she writes. I read each new Harry Potter within a week of it coming out. Most of what I've read the last few years has been for school, and I am so very much enjoying that I can read for pleasure, with time to enjoy it. Reading is my comfort food.
