My Interests

Music:

Grindcore, Hardcore, Occasionally punk rock, New Wave 80's, 70's rock, 60's rock, 50's country and Doo Wop, Sometimes I will get a wild hair and listen to some old school jazz from time to time.....I grew up on 80's music whether it was new wave, easy listening, or the hair metal bands seeing as how all of my uncles had the whole hair metal thing going for them.....My uncle Scott give me his Guns and Roses "appetite for destruction" tape when I was about five or six years old, not to mention I had a six foot cloth poster of guns and roses hanging in the corner of my room at the time...I begged and begged my mother to buy that thing for me at the flea market until finally she did...So at the time I was really into bands like Europe, Lita Ford, Nelson, Mr. Big, Motley Crue, Poison, Great White, Whitesnake, GNR, Metallica, Ratt, Cinderella, and that sort of thing...But at the time I was also listening to the new wave thing also...Now I know that in those days most people were either metal or new wave but by no means were you to be both but I was about five or six years old at the time so kiss my ass, but anyways I also loved The Thompson Twins, Tears for Fears, Shannon, Madonna, The cure, Pet Shop Boys, Debbie Gibson, Taylor Dayne, Romeo Void, Dan Hartman, Steve Winwood, Bruce Hornsby and that sort of stuff...Then the nineties came and ganster rap was soon to follow, I liked stuff like Pete rock and CL Smooth, EPMD, Dr. Dre, Nwa, Public Enemy, Das Efx, Gangg Starr, and shit like that but at the same time grunge had started to take over, so I was also listening to stuff like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, crash test dummies, Stone Temple Pilots, and the likes of that whole era stuck with me until about 1997 or 98..During that time everyone at Stanley Jr. High had gotten themselves a guitar for christmas in the year 1995, and everyone I knew was determined to learn how to play it so they could be in the Talent show by the end of that next year, needless to say all of us were churning out power chords within a matter of weeks and before we knew it we had learned how to play every single song off of the Nirvana Nevermind c.d. including solos and everything! And when it came time to play in the 8th grade talent show, we were all ready...It was nothing more than a take over of Black Fender squier series guitars, and sunburst washburns all purchased at Rankin music in Stanley....I myself would walk up there with friends and we would play the baddest guitars on the baddest amps and I know those guys that owned the place hated to let us do it but they knew our parents were the ones keeping them in business, so they would let us have a field day in there.....But anyways like I said the 8th and 9th grade talent shows were taken over by everyone playing nirvana songs....I played in the 8th and 9th grade talent shows and if anyone remembers those performances then hell yes, you are the reason that I did it..We all thought we would get the girls and we were right, we did, so things had gone as planned, chalk one up for the boys!!!!!! But after grunge had died soon after 1998, We had fallen into the new things to follow like AFI, Rage aginst the machine, cannibal corpse, Blount, 59 times the pain, NOFX, Tool, Jawbreaker, Me first and the Gimmie gimmies, and that sort of stuff....And I continued listening to that punk rock kind of thing until about 2004 and from there I had gotten into post hardcore like Norma Jean, From Autumn to ashes, Poison the well, It dies today, Between the buried and me, Atreyu, and that whole genre of bands....and I was also listening to a sort of emo punk mixture like Alli withan I, northstar, moneen, and that sort of stuff....Then in about 2005 I really had gotten into grindcore bands like The Daughters, The Number Twelve looks like you, Bodies in the gears of the apparatus, Ed Gein, and see you next tuesday.....and ever since then that has been sort of my thing and I have no idea where I will turn to next but for now I am pretty content with what I have grown into these days, so there you go, my whole music history........Here is a list of the stuff that I like and now maybe you can understand where I am coming from when I say I have an open mind and ears when it comes to music: -AFI -ATREYU -THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER -BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME -LED ZEPPLIN -STEPPENWOLF -BILLY OCEAN -AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK -IF HOPE DIES -WALLS OF JERICO -MARTYR AD -FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES -CANNIBAL CORPSE -NASTY -BENEATH THE MASSACRE -DESPISED ICON -MORIA -WE CAME WITH BROKEN TEETH -RAGE AGINST THE MACHINE -AS I LAY DYING -JAWBREAKER -IYF PORK FOREVER -THE NUMBER TWELVE LOOKS LIKE YOU -SHANNON -LIONEL RITCHIE -THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD -PHIL COLLINS -WHAM -MEN AT WORK -HALL AND OATES -DAN HARTMAN -MICHAEL MCDONALD -POISON -THE DAUGHTERS -ED GEIN -CHOKE THEIR RIVERS WITH OUR DEAD -ALLI WITH AN I -EVERY TIME I DIE -G.G.
