Hey the name is Amanda but those closest to me call me Mamie. I am from the dirty dirty South born and raised just North of New Orleans, LA. After two hours of deliberation I packed up my stuff got in my semi-working Jeep and drove to Atlanta.I have made a new home and each day brings a new experience from which I always learn and grow from. My transition has been easier than I thought.I am pretty well rounded I love everything from the arts to sports to being a nerd. Ha.I currently love being surrounded by lots of people and things to do. Boredom is not an option. I can be found at a museum, an art show, shopping, hanging with friends, at the gym, listening to good music or the local coffee shop.Making friends, working hard, playing harder, working out and staying busy! I have lots of family and friends who love me and making new ones in GA.I try to always take care of my heart, mynd, body and soul and am doing just that!I am a student, a teacher, a learner, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin and a friend. I am complicated...yet...simple. I am sweet but a bitch. I am a lover but a fighter. I am friendly but with my guard up. I am open minded but have an opinion. I am calm but can be wild. I talk a lot but know when to listen. If you want to enter my world...the door is open.

My Interests

I have lots of interests....dance, art, music, wine, reading, movies, people, shopping, cooking, etc. You know all the good stuff. Right now I am interested in working out, art museums, flea markets, festivals, wine tasting and traveling and music. I love to dance so I am usually always up to go hear some good music. I love to cook so when people want to get together I enjoy doing that or going out to get ethnic food. I bought a laptop so I could start writing again...I love poetry. I am in a few book clubs as well....yeah I am nerd!I like being introduced to new things or trying new things. I like seeing life from different view points.I have a broad range of interests it is hard to say really. I mean one night I could be home watching a movie with someone special and the next night go out with friends to the local bar. I usually like places with good music and a good vibe.

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet my worst enemy because usually it is someone you are rivals with or opposite of that you could learn from. Their strengths would be your weaknesses.I would also like to meet my nephew (which I get to very soon)! There is also that handful of famous people I wouldnt mind bumping into.

Ska, Folk, New Age, Drum and bass, hard house, house, jungle, hip hop, rap, alternative, new age and acoustic....I love it all. I could pass on the country though!I love Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Modest Mouse, Tori Amos, Sarah McLauchlin, Norah Jones, Lilly Allen, John Mayer, Incubus, James Blunt, Dido, Fiona Apple, Ani DiFranco, Aimee Mann, 80's MUSIC, electronica DJ's, Bush, Candlebox, The Cure, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Rush, some Metallica, Alice in Chains, NIN, Tool, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews, etc. Wide range I guess...I could keep going.

Movies:

My Life Without Me, 8 Women, American Beauty, Pursuit of Happiness, some old films, Amelie, True Romance, The Green Mile, Schindler's List, Blood Diamonds, Dejavu, Man on Fire, Crash, some 80's flicks, Breakfast at Tiffany's, etc. I am sure I have lots probably in each category. I could go on for days.....

Television:

Cooking shows, Project Runway, CSI's, Without a Trace, Cold Case, Shark, Numbers, 24, Criminal Minds, The First 48, Prison Break, Law and Order, etc to name a few.

Books:

I like almost all the books I have read and in my short life span that is a lot! I love my smut called Cosmo! I like fiction mostly. However, I really liked all the books on the Holocaust I have read. I like Icey Sparks, Night, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, She's Come Undone, The Emporer's Children, The works of Edgar Allen Poe, etc. I love to read!

Heroes:

People like this guy my sister knows....I don't want to give him away but he is quite the over comer.People who with nothing make something or give something.
