A 7 anni inizia lo studio della tromba debuttando a 11anni nei concerti bandistici. A 16 anni intraprende lo studio delle chitarra e successivamente quello del piano. Si diploma come attore presso "L'ACCADEMIA D'ARTE DRAMMATICA" a Roma nel 1998. Inizia la sua carriera nell'ambito teatrale lavorando con i migliori registi internazionali nel campo della ricerca. Nel 2002 appare per la prima volta in Tv. Inizia un percorso che lo porterà nel 2006 ad in terpretare Micky in "L'ONORE E IL RISPETTO" e successivamente "IO NON DIMENTICO" nel ruolo di Peppiniello, continuando così la scia di ruoli da co-protagonista in numerose fiction di successo. La sua attività artistica si muove a 360 gradi tra musica recitazione e regia. Ha realizzato come filmker diversi cortometraggi, un videoclip ed un documentario. Nel prossimo autunno sarà protagonista nel ruolo di Mazzola, nella fiction "IL COMMISARIO VIVALDI" al fianco di Lando Buzzanca. Ha terminato da poco di girare il film di Mario Martone "Noi Credevamo", con Luigi Lo Cascio , Tony Servillo e Luca Zingaretti. .. RENATO MAROTTA’S BIOGRAPHY * ENGLISH VERSION Renato Marotta (born near Salerno in 1974) has been studying music since he was very young: at the age of six he started playing the trumpet, also as a member of citizen’s bands. When he was sixteen he began playing the guitar and the piano. After high school he moved to Rome, where he became a professional actor, getting a certificate at the “Accademia d’Arte Drammatica Pietro Sharoff” in 1998. He has been working as an actor and a musician, both for theatres and resorts in Italy and abroad. He has worked as chief entertainer and art director for eight years. He experienced both traditional to experimental theatre, shifting from comédie de l’art to naturalism to biomechanics in his study of the character. He attended acting workshops with important, international directors, such as T. Sudana, M. Margotta, N. Karpov and M. Bellocchio. He directed his first short film in 2001, Tredì (shot on Super 8), award-winning at the Alternative Film Festival of Picciano (Pescara). He first acted for television in the TV movies Un medico in famiglia, La squadra and Marcinelle (2002). In the same year he directed his second short film, Ciak Unico (digital camera), supported by Marco Bellocchio, whose workshop represented a very important experience for him. He made his debut as a cinema actor in the movie Radio West, directed by Alessandro Valori, in 2003. In 2004 he directed his first documentary movie, Il soffiatore (digital camera), awarded with a special mention in the Festival “La città in corso” in Rome. In 2005-06 he acted Micky, one of the main characters in the TV series “L’onore e il rispetto”, with Giancarlo Giannini and produced by Janus International for Mediaset Tv In 2006 he has worked as director and actor in the short film “Antiorario di quartiere” (short on 35mm film), along with Cristiano Pasca. In 2007 he acted Peppiniello, one of the main characters in the TV series “Io non dimentico” with Giancarlo Giannini.In 2008 has acted in serial tv that will be on RAI1 on next march 2009 the rule of co-starring(Mazzola). He has acted on 2009 in the last movie "Noi Credevamo" of Mario Martone.
