About Me

I am an African-American film and television actress. Born July 30, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Graduating from Golden West College with an Associate Art degree in Social Sciences, I had moved to California to become an actress, first on soap operas such as Generations, Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless. One of my earliest roles saw me as Patti LaBelle's fashion designer daughter, Charisse Chamberlain, on the NBC TV series Out All Night. I also appeared as Jazz's sister on the hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I got my big break in film as Will Smith's exotic dancer girlfriend in Independence Day. From there, I was cast in many other films and earned critical acclaim for myole in the 1997 movie Soul Food, which netted me a TV Movie Award and NAACP Image Award nominations. In December of 1998, I married singer Christopher Harvest (aka Sixx-Nine) who I later divorced in June 2002.I also played roles in Idle Hands, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Two Can Play That Game and Juwanna Mann before landing the role of assassin Vernita Green in the 2003 Quentin Tarantino vehicle, Kill Bill. I have also tried to hand at voice acting, providing me a voice for roles in the television cartoons Ozzy & Drix and Kim Possible. In 2004, I was in an episode of Punk'd where my pregnant friend Tichina Arnold pretended to go into labor, but they became angry when a paramedic appeared to care more about taking pictures than delivering the baby.My relationship with the rapper 50 Cent earned me a playful nod from Missy Elliott in her song "I'm Really Hot" and from 50 Cent himself in "Get In My Car".Now I'm currently starring in the drama series, Missing on the Lifetime Television Network with Caterina Scorsone and Mark Consuelos. Which I am also the show's co-producer.
