..The two main ingredients of the "Wild Ukulele String Band" are: Rod Alward and Deb Chambers. They met three years ago on MySpace and have become VERY good friends!! Other Members include: Jamion Brunsting- "ChefJam" - on vocals, trashcan bass and trashcan drum, Cat Kresh - on vocals, guitar, ukulele, Celtic harp, trashcan bass and more and Randy - Rod's brother on vocals, guitar, ukulele and banjo. They have played together at the Ionia Bluegrass Show ~ Now - Saranac Acoustic Jamboree , Mackinaw City's "Mackinaw Crossings Mall", Lansing,MI. Art Fest, Lansing, MI. Folk Fest, Magdalena's Tea House and other assorted places.
Other occasional members include: Rose - Rod's sister on vocals, trashcan bass, tambourine & other instruments.
Make sure you catch them at two of Michigan's largest and best Music Festivals: Farmfest Main Stage in August ~ AND ~ Wheatland Music Fest in September!!!
Our music is "Home Grown and Home Made" ~ a mix of Bluegrass, Blues, Folk, Jug Band & Gospel with a slight touch of Rock! Start with a Ukulele, add in guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, washboard, trashcan bass, suitcase bass drum and you've got a sound that's all it's own! We mainly do songs written by Rod, Cat, Randy and Deb but occasionally throw in tunes by Dylan, Hank Williams Sr. & Pete Seeger.
