Curator's Statement:
the idea behind this show is an attempt to get the most raw, pure, and current work that each artist it working on. that is why i purposely waited 1 week prior to the show to reveal the details of the show to each artist. in doing so, the artists will be forced to stop and evaluate their work. perhaps this exercise will open up another way of understanding their artwork, and their creative thought process.
for the past five years, i have been witnessing, observing, and documenting a dramatic change and growth in art unlike any previous time in art history.
the title: "Absolute Control Over Every Living Soul" came to me as we are so heavily influenced by images. i feel that this group of artists is an important segment of some of the most influential commentators on our society today. their artwork will undoubtedly educate and influence many future generations.
hopefully my love of art, creativity, and the need to facilitate artistic expression will be seen, experienced, shared, and hopefully enjoyed by everyone around me.
