One Flaw In Women
By the time the Lord made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
An angel appeared and said,
"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
-and she will do everything
with only two hands."The angel was astounded at the requirements.
"Only two hands!? No way!
And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish.""But I won't," the Lord protested.
"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick
AND can work 18 hour days."The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord.""She is soft," the Lord agreed,
"but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.""Will she be able to think?", asked the angel. The Lord replied,
"Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate."The angel then noticed something,
and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.""That's not a leak,"
the Lord corrected,
"that's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked. The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,
her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed.
"You are a genius, Lord.
You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing."And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness,
love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
Please pass this along to all your women friends and relatives
to remind them just how amazing they are.

"We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant....
You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and
nurture it." --John Lennon
I like music very much but don't listen on a regular basis. I'd rather listen to music than watch the television. I find classic rock most pleasant. The words are easier to remember I guess. The Doors, Joplin and The Stones. I like some country music including a lot of oldies. Jazz is a favorite after the kids are asleep. I don't have a 'collection' of music so it is good that I'm random. Oh yes, I'm a 'Yanni' fan.

I'm weaning myself from Soap Operas this year. Days of Our Lives will be the hardest to let go. I don't have TiVo but can catch up easily.
Wife Swap and Super Nanny are great to watch on Monday night and I watch My Name is Earl on Thursday. I don't pay much attention at other times unless for a movie. I prefer the History Channel, Discovery and PBS.......

1st Corinthians
Chapter 1313:1 If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing.13:3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.13:4 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud,13:5 doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;13:6 doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;13:10 but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things.13:12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.13:13 But now faith, hope, and love remain--these three. The greatest of these is love.
I've been reading CLEOPATRA for nearly a year and I'm not half through it. I enjoyed BEFORE WOMEN HAD WINGS because the setting was local. It was great to imagine that the characters may have walked the same ground we do. Every woman might like THE RED TENT. The story is set in Biblical times and portrays a Biblical family but it is not a 'religious' book. Wally Lamb wrote I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE. This story describes the differences between twin brothers from the 'sane' brothers point of view. COULDN'T KEEP IT TO MYSELF was written by Wally Lamb and the women of York Correctional Institution. Proof that things can change at the drop of a dime.
~THE BIBLE
How Do I Love Thee?
How Do I Love Thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being an ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,--I love thee with the Breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death...
