I began photographing about four years ago. In the beginning, a lot of mediocrity (in my opinion) was all that occurred, but other people seemed to like what I could do with a camera.
Now, with about four years of experience under my belt, I am looking forward to pursuing a career in photo journalism. A photo of mine was recently chosen to be published in the International Library of Photography's anthology entitled ENDLESS JOURNEYS. The same photo has also given me the spot as a semi-finalist in The International Library of Photography's International Open Amateur Photography Contest. Along with that nomination, I also won the chance to win $10,000 in The Amateur Photographer of the Year contest. Those are my biggest accomplishments to date.
For the past three years, I have spent the majority of my weekends traveling to nearby venues in order to photograph some of the bands in my area, and a few from out of state. However, up to this point, I have received very little for my talents except for a pat on the back and an internet link back to my web site. As a result, I am looking for a way to expand my horizons and showcase my talents.
I would like to begin photographing bands outside of my normal routine. I hope to do this for a small fee, which can be negotiated between the bands and myself.
Having this as an option will not only benefit the bands, but will benefit myself as well by giving me more experience and helping me get my name out.
