Dj Dujour

VA's Most Versatile DJ!!!

About Me

Dj Dujour was born to Haitian mother and father. I came to the U.S as a young boy with parents, brothers and sisters, and resided in Roanoke (aka the Star City) Virginia. Roanoke is currently my home, and it is where I basically grew up. I was born during a time when music was becoming very popular in the world. I grew up listening to different varieties of music. Music has always been part of my life, and ever since I was a child I have always loved music. Therefore, music has been one of my main passions in life. When I came to the U.S, it did not take me long to discover and adapt to the American way of life. At that time, I discovered Hip Hop music and quickly fell in love with the culture. It was about nine years ago that I discovered my talent in music; as a result, I started to write, compose, and produce my own music. At the same time, being a DJ was something that I discovered while listening to legendary DJs like Mix Master Mike, X-Ecutioners, Q-Bert, Dj Kool, Grandmaster Flash, Funkmaster Flex, Dj Clue, and many more. My love for music and the inspiration of legendary DJs lead me to be where I am today. I am a college graduate with an Associate's Degree in Business Management. I also plan on pursuing other things in life. My wish is to make it big, travel the world, meet new people, and leave a positive legacy for my future generation. I am fluent in French, Creole, English, Spanish, and little bit of broken Patois. Big up to all my peeps holding it down from the Caribbean, West-Indies, 509, 590, 596, 540, 434, 703, 804, 202, 212, 315, 318, 518, 351, 305, 561, 678, everybody worldwide. Big tings ah gwan!!! Meanwhile, if you wish to get at me...send me a message or leave me a comment. Blessed!!!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Dj Dujour owner/operator of Dujour Entertainment, Producer, DJ, Writer, and Poet.
Influences: Ever since I met Hip Hop, I fell in love with her. But listenning to Kompa music is really what influences me to make music, and Hip Hop basically takes me to a whole another level. I admire a lot of musicians and artists like KRS-One, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Lost Boyz, Onyx, MC Lyte, Jay-Z, Nas, B.I.G, 2Pac, Wyclef, Lauren Hill, Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Masper P, Trick Daddy, and many more. Categorically, I love Hip hop, R&B, Reggae, Dancehall, Zouk, Kompa, Jazz, Blues, Classical, French, and Latin music. My favorite Kompa/Zouk musicians are Jacques Sauveur Jean, Top Adlerman, Zenglen, Tropicana, Sweet Mickey, Tabou Combo, Kassav, Zin, Lakol, Carimi, and many more. My favorite Reggae/Dancehall artists are Bob Marley, Alpha Blondy, Sister Nancy, Lady Saw, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Sizzla, Capleton, and many more.Personally, I compare music to women; I do not discriminate when it comes to music. Unlike certain people that might say "I'm Hip Hop, and I'm not gonna listen to Rock-n-Roll or whatever. To me that just sounds like someone saying "I'm black, and I'm not gonna f*ck with white women or Latina women, Asian women, or European women." To me that's discrimination.I love all music!KAFOU
