About Me

Living the dream... I've come to the harsh realization lately that I've come to recuiting for the wrong reasons. I decided to come recuiting, first and foremost, to be near my family. Come to find out, coming recruiting to be with your family is comparable to having someone dangle a piece of meat in front of a dog just out of his reach. I know my family is 15 miles away from me but I work so much that I don't have time for them. The second reason I came out here was to bring the standards of the sailors that were coming to the fleet up. It is virtually impossible to succeed out here and be selective about who you put in the navy. Not only are we, as recruiters, not authorized , by Navy Regs, to turn away a qualified person but we would never make our monthly quota without putting in twice as many hours as I already do. So to say the least I'm adjusting to find a new mission while I'm on recruiting duty. I've realized that my mission now is to make rank and go back to the Fleet where I can use my new-found sales skills to help influence the new sailors checking into the ship.So that's the serious side of me. I am still pretty much the same old guy I've been since I was 16. I still drink too much, I still love being outside, and I still love to laugh and make other people laugh.I just bought a new house out here which is the coolest thing I think I've ever done. There's always going to be a little buyer's remorse when you commit to something like a house but I'm very happy that I bought it. It needed a little TLC and now it's just about where I want it to be. (minus the garage) My dog is my best bud around here. Fish and Jessica are still, and always will be my best friends. I guess that's me in a nutshell. Very nice!
