What did YOU have for dinner last night?

About Me

Let's see...I am an only child that spent most of my growing up years in Portland, Oregon. I graduated from a small Christian high school in 1990 and after that spent most of my college years in Kentucky. I earned a B.S. degree in Biology/Secondary Education from a small, Christian liberal arts college in central Kentucky (Asbury College...www.asbury.edu...check it out, great school!) I've been a high school Biology teacher in the beautiful state of Oregon for the past 10 years (yikes)...is there really any better subject to teach? I mean really, it is the study of LIFE! If someone tells you to "get a life", tell them to take Biology! I've been on 4 mission trips to Romania with Hope Teams International and I'm currently on the board of that Christian humanitarian organization (check out the website for more info....www.hopeteams.org). Last summer (August of 2005 to be specific), I finally tied the knot and married my best friend in the whole wide world (next to Jesus)--Michelle!! We are enjoying our first year of marriage....married life truly is awesome! As far as hobbies, I currently have 3 main ones: Church, Mosh pits at punk rock concerts, and Buffalo Wings (with an extra side of buffalo wing sauce). Happy trails!
I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

I love (and I mean love) going to concerts...especially good mosh pit concerts at the Crystal Ballroom and the Roseland in Portland....Movies are also pretty cool (especially if you go on Tuesday when Regal card holders like myself are rewarded with a free small popcorn....yum....it doesn't get any better than that, does it?)

I'd like to meet:

Charles Darwin (for coffee), President George W. Bush (for dinner), Dr. James Dobson (coffee, dinner, and desert)

Music:

My favorite bands are...in no particular order....Relient K, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Toby Mac, Yellowcard, Jars of Clay, New Found Glory, Sugarcult, Plain White T's

Movies:

Dead Poets Society, Cry Freedom, The Shining, Dumb and Dumber, Meet the Parents, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Butterfly Effect, Airplane 1 and 2, Scary Movie 3, Dodgeball

Television:

American Idol, ER (the older seasons with the original and semi-original cast...I own the first two seasons on DVD), Prison Break (that's quality television right there), Little House on the Praire, I also like to watch the news everyday just so I can feel "plugged in to the world" and be able to engage in at least a little intellectual conversation now and then :)

Books:

Hmmmm....books....I'm reading the Bible and a devotional book right now, but other than that, reading just isn't really my thing....yeah, I know it's cool to read great books, but like I said, it's not my thing, is that ok?

Heroes:

My Savior Jesus Christ, Anyone serving in the military (y'all are awesome!), A former pastor of mine (Rev. Dan Morgan), and my Mom (isn't that the most heartwarming thing you've ever seen in print?)

My Blog

Random Thoughts

I wasn't sure what to title this blog entry...I mean, I sorta got a bunch of random thoughts going on in my head and none of them seem more important than the other so I just figured "random thoughts"...

Oklahoma...

Well folks, yes, it's true...I'm in a little musical called "Oklahoma" and so far, despite taking up way more time in rehearsals than I had originally planned, it has been a total blast...a good time....

Taco Bell Night

Ok, big news....I had Taco Bell tonight for dinner....it wasn't a very productive night, but it was fun--almost felt like a Friday or Saturday night.  I saw "Failure to Launch" before Taco Bell.....
