I practice Aikido (The Way of Harmozied Energy or the Way of Peace), a non-competitive martial art about living a non-resistance and non-violent peaceful life with the fullest expression of a realized self to do good for the world. I have dedicated my life to Peace. It's all about relationships, connections, flow, and the energy that is inherent to universal Love. Through this art my life has ben transformed, and I have a path that guides and supports me.
I have also trained Brazilian Jujitsu intenesly for 2 1/2 years and love it, and tradional Jujitsu for 2 years- that stuff is all business so to speak. There is nothing wrong with speaking peace while carrying a sharp sword. Otherwise your Peace/Harmory might mean nothing at all.My work is pretty cool too: I have a 1000 hour AA degree in Massage Therapy with an emphasis on athletes/injury work. For the last few years I have been at Midline Massage working/ being mentored/teaching and studying Rolfing, anatomy, osteopathic manipulations, movement therapy, Qi Gong and just about anything about the body you can think of. I am a body dork!BURNING MAN and festivals! Brazilian Juijitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, Medical Qi Gong, Snowboarding, Dancing, Synchronisities, Meditation, Social Justice/Enviromental and Peace Movements (Activism baby!), Rolfing and Advanced Bodywork, anything with Movement!, Visionary Artwork, Sushi, Thai food, Eating Healthy/ Cooking, going out, Life the Universe and Everything, Beer vs. Wine vs. Tequila, Science and Technology, Politics and Current Events, History, Intention, Conciousness and Evolutionary Spirituality, Astrology, Sacredness, Camping, Traveling, Ancient Cultures, our Mama Earth, all the awesome people I encounter around me!!
I'd like to meet:
I want to actively build a community of consciously aware progressive people who are looking for the next step in human evolution. People who open thier mind, open thier heart, remember who they are. Thinkers, doers, artists, activists, people who shine, lovers, musicians, visonaries, those who aren't afraid to laugh and cry. If Love is your vibration. Anyone who lives passionately. If you have felt the Connection then I want to know you too! If you believe that Creation and with it us are evolvling, growing, and that our world is only one of many states of Being, then I definately drop a big hello my way! If your dogmatic, dramatic, and a stick in the mud I have enough people filling those roles, so please move the fuck on thanks!
Music:
Lately it's all about the "beeedop beeep beep beeedoop"- sick thick layers of bass pumped from large speakers by talented DJ's! By far the most positive music culture I have been around! BASSNECTAR!, Sphongle, DJ Shadow, Bluetech, Glitchmob, An-ten-ae, FreQ Nasty, RJD2, DJ Krush, Boreta, Edit, Kid Beyond, Tipper, Mozaic, Little John, David Starfire, the list goes on and on. Long time eclectic tastes: Anti-Flag, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Slayer, Spearhead, Ozomatli, Phish, Kan'nal, Hamsa Lila, Nirvana, The Reverand Horton Heat I could really go on and on: a little bit gangsta style, a little bit of rockibilly, world/reggae and a whole lot of whatever. I do listen to damn near everything, and dig conscious hip hop, hardcore fuckin metal, all the classic rock- come on whatcha got for me???
Movies:
See this movie, no matter how you may feel about war, it is important to understand what our military industrial complex is all about. With the Defense budget at $700 billion a year, war is far too profitable to not be happening all around us. We are on the wrong path.
I love movies, all kinds of stuff. The Secret and What the Bleep Do We Know- might get ya thinkin'! And look at Alex Grey's art!
Television:
First off: TV MAKES YOU DUMB and BRAINWASHED!! It's a terrible thought controlling device in the hands of the media, government and corporations who are more interested in selling and distracting the masses then informing. Yes, there is a good amount of harmless/informative stuff I like on TV, but I keep my intake pretty select these days.
So let's talk about important things then:
Net nuetrality and freedom of media, press, speech, expression and access to unbiased information. A society that is ill informed is incapable of making just decisions. All mainstream media is owned and controlled by a handfull of corporations, with exception of free media on the Internet. We have to work to keep the Internet free as a portal to communication and information. Check www.savetheinternet.com.
Good sources for information that matters: Democracy Now!, and the Pacifica Radio Network. PBS and NPR are pretty good too, as well as being thought provoking.
Books:
The Celestine Prophecy, The Fifth Sacred Thing, Brave New World, 1984, The Space Triology, The Lord of The Rings, The Drangonlance Chronicles, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Island, Harry Potter, Irvin Welsh's stuff, Chronicles of Naria, astrology, too much Philosophy to start listing it all, natural health medical stuff, organic gardening and hydroponics, way too many martial arts books, Bodywork texts for days, environmental science!!! and all sorts of New Agey hippy shit. . .and if you really get to know me I'll tell you all about my roleplaying dork days - Long live the inner dork!
Heroes:
So many: my best friend Justin, Morihei Ueshiba (founder of Aikido), every prophet who has come to guide us towards the light, those who struggle to birth a better world, my friends and family
