BIO
MoneyPenny is an American rock band with firm roots in classic songwriting. Their catchy, melodic songs are influenced directly by the greats: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Replacements, and anybody else who gives a shit about good music. While other bands attempt to forge new sounds out of tired material, MoneyPenny focuses on what made rock and roll popular in the first place: sex and fun. They didnt come to reinvent the wheel; they came to set it on fire. The band has built a dedicated following quickly due to their spectacular live shows and the circulation of their four-song Luray Demo. Their professionalism on stage and in the studio can be traced to experience and classical training. The members of MoneyPenny have individually and collectively shared the stage with O.A.R., Better Than Ezra, Hoobastank, Vertical Horizon, Jimmy Eat World, Dave Matthews Band, Rhett Miller, The Damnwells, The Clarks, and many other great bands. The individual members have also worn many different hats: composer, producer, recording engineer, session player, cellist, and opera singer.Hailing from Harrisonburg, Virginia, MoneyPenny is: -Mike Davis- lead vocals, guitar; former drummer of Ross Copperman; favorite Bond: Roger Moore -Mike Meadows- lead guitar, vocals; former frontman of Small Town Workers; favorite Bond: Roger Moore -Tripper Ryder- bass, vocals; former bass player of Ross Copperman and Ki:Theory; favorite Bond: Sean Connery -Nate Joyner- drums, percussion; former drummer of Small Town Workers and Ki: Theory; favorite Bond: Sean ConneryIt started with Mike D and Tripper writing songs. Nate later joined to complete one of the finest rhythm sections in new rock. Then Mike M came on board to double up the big guitar sound. The front line is comprised of professional singers with years of experience, so the vocal harmonies are always a memorable part of the MoneyPenny experience.
