Photography, writing (especially genre fiction), children with fur (especially kitties).
St. Louis (which will always be home). Chicago (even though it is a freezer).I dig movies, music, and books. I'll spend days wandering art museums. I like causing trouble as long as I don't get thrown in jail. :)I'm addicted to mountains. I love and miss my hills (Missouri Ozarks) but can be content with a week in the Smokies. Or two weeks. Hell, I'd move there if it weren't for my family.
I'd like to meet:
Friends. Nice people who want to chat about life. Anyone interested in photography, writing, or saving the world. (Where are you Underdog?)
Music:
Everything, with an emphasis on rock. Melissa Ethridge, Queen, Stevie Ray Vaughn,
Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Heart, Etta James, Billie Holliday, and then some. Oh, and Audioslave, Saliva, Metallica, Nickel Creek, Nickelback, Allison Krauss, Garth Brooks, Lovehammers, Peter Gabriel, Styx, ELO, Sweet, and Velvet Revolver (not so much GNR). And most recently, NIN and Anna Nalick. Don't forget Susan Werner. If you haven't listened to her... shame on you. K T Tunstall and Madeleine Peyroux (J'ai deux Amours *sigh*)
Movies:
Hmmm... I can think of lots, but foremost in my mind tonight: Fifth Element, Casablanca, Field of Dreams, The Notebook, Beauty and the Beast (Jean Cocteau), and of course, The Princess Bride. Most Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Myrna Loy, and combine any of them and I'm in love.
Have to add: Secondhand Lions.
I think I've found my favorite movie... Stranger Than Fiction!!!!!!!!!!
Television:
Television has been replaced by classes... but when there is time: House, Ugly Betty, Criminal Minds and lately, The Closer. And, I have to admit, Numbers, Moonlight, The Big Bang Theory (reminds me of college)and Jericho.
Books:
I read way too much romance. But I also enjoy, Terry Pratchett, Ursula K. Le Guin, Guy Gavriel Kay, Tad Williams, and the mighty Tolkien. Oh, and I have to count myself as one of those crazy Jane Austin fans. And Flannery O'Conner, Toni Morrison, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Heroes:
I meet heroes on a daily basis. People who put their interests last and help others. I am very lucky to have many friends and family that I consider heroes.
