The Jody Grind, hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, is an original rock band true to its roots. Led by singer Sara Colb, whose voice can best be described as Janis Joplin meets Bonnie Raitt, the band has played a vast array of venues from Boston to New York. Sara is joined by guitar player and songwriter James Houlahan, and together they write original music influenced by the likes of Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Wilco, and The Grateful Dead. Sara is also backed up on keyboards by Andy Hackbarth. The band's live show is a great example of what happens when fantastic original melodies and poetic lyrics are mixed with a high level of musical ability and performative excellence. The Jody Grind truly stand apart from other bands with a sexy powerful female lead vocalist, a large catalogue of authentic original material, and the ability to deliver all this together in a live performance that seamlessly veers from unparallelled intensity to quieter, subtler moments of musical brilliance.
