About Me

42! Just Kidding. I'm a college student who lives in Hercules, California (about 30 miles from San Francisco). I am currently studying mass communications. I would like to be a film editor, cinematographer, or maybe even a director, (if I can stop messing around with that crazy Unix stuff)!Computing: Apple Powerbook (the one in the profile pic), running OS X Tiger. I spend more time in the Terminal than in the Finder. I do my editing in Final Cut Pro. I also have a Windows/Ubuntu Linux dual-boot system. I'm much more intrested in the Linux partition. :-)Here's my Geek Code: -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GMC d- s+:+ a-- C++++ UBL++++ P+ L+ E W+++++ N+ !o K++ w--() !O M++$ V? My Interests

Computing, Music, Science Fiction, Movies, Literature, Photography, Unix-like operating systems, lists of things separated by commas.

I'd like to meet:

Interesting people, maybe catch up with some old aquaintences.

Music:

Omnivorous, but my favorite artists include New Order/Joy Division, Pink Floyd, XTC, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Love, Talking Heads,Velvet Underground, Devo, Big Star, Elvis Costello, the Doors, early R.E.M., Cocteau Twins, The Smiths, Yes, and Nick Drake. I just love a good tune.

Movies:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Star Wars (the first, oops, I mean the fourth), anything by Hitchcock.

Television:

Even though I'm interested in video production, I don't watch much TV, but what I do watch I love. My favorite shows are The Simpsons, Family Guy, 24, House, Bones, Monty Python's flying circus (I have the whole thing on DVD), and Mystery Science Theater 3000, and Star Trek Classic.

Books:

I'm a major tree-killer. I'll read anything, especially science fiction and fantasy. Some of my favorites are: Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead, Stranger in a Strange Land, the Dune series, Oreilly's (not Bill) computer books, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, the Illmuniatus! Trilogy, Time Enough for Love, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Elements of Style, and the Associated Press Stylebook.

Heroes:

Ayn Rand, Steve Jobs, Leo Laporte, Ian Curtis, Kevin Rose, Woz, David Pogue, CmdrTaco, Douglas Adams, Robert A. Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Brian Wilson, John C. Dvorak, Eric S. Raymond, and Spock (Mister, not Doctor!).

Worst. Trailer. Ever.

I saw this trailer during a re-run of "South Park." The movie is called "Crank" and it's about a bald, British, hitman-ish, character who's dying for some reason. The premise is stupider than (wait fo...
