About Me

The Hushpuppies Band was formed in Millen , a small town in South Georgia in 1998. Songs From the Big House consists of Roots Rock, Progressive Country, and a little touch of Rockabilly. Often people have struggled to put a classification on the style of music from the Hushpuppies. The songs represent small town life from "Running Free" down "Highway 25" to "Redneck Sat. nights" in "This Old Town". What started out as a band formed to perform for a fundraising benefit has ballooned into shows all over Georgia and into parts of South Carolina, Florida, and Alabama. The Hushpuppies have opened for several big name acts such as REO Speedwagon, Kansas, Blue Dogs, and The Drifters to name a few. See ya on the road!!..
