An Englishman abroad...

About Me

.. PLEASE! Do have the courtesy to introduce yourself first BEFORE adding me as a friend...It's only polite you know! I am NOT a terminal "friend" collector, if we have nothing in common I WILL NOT ADD YOU! (No matter how groovy or good looking you consider yourself to be!)
Ok, so here I am...I have joined this online community and now I'm supposed to write something so outrageously witty, provocative and astounding that it will make you think "Oh wow, that guy sounds so interesting! I think I want to be his friend immediately!" or perhaps "Oh my gawd, that guy is so bloody pretentious, I just want to smash my keyboard to bits".
Either way, at least I'll get some kind of reaction, at best I hope that I might say something that makes your mind just a little bit more stimulated than it was this morning, when in your sleepy haze, choosing between cornflakes, pop-tarts and a cup of coffee seemed like a nigh on mountain high task.
So...About me (after a pointless long winded prelude): My name is Chris, and as the blurb says, I'm an Englishman abroad. I've been living in Florida for that past fourteen years doing my level best to shun fame and fortune.
To be continued... (Sounds almost epic huh?)
(Just in case it has escaped your attention, I have a very dry, quirky sense of humour and I make no apologies for it! A great deal of what you see on this page is very tongue in cheek, including the off-colour comments).
This page is optimised for viewing @ 1280x1024 and a monitor colour temperature of 6500 degrees Kelvin. (Oh yeah, it looks better in IE, even though I use Firefox! I guess I need to stop coding in CSS!)

My Interests

..Interests...Hhmmm...Well anyone who knows me well will tell you that I'm interested in everything! Seriously, I have a learning addiction...
...My main interests though happen to include just about every medium of art and creative expression, especially photography as it's my main outlet for personal expression.
Music has always been very, very important for me...I used to sing in various bands in the UK and I must say that I miss doing that very much.
As I mentioned above, I have an addiction to knowledge, so I've read an enormous amount of books of all types over the years...
Let's see, whats else...Curry, I am a huge fan of Indian cuisine, there's nothing better than a good spicy curry.
I love all things Italian ( I almost moved there some years ago), especially the red wine, give me a bottle of good Chianti and I become the most romantic man in the world (I've been known to croon like Julio Iglesias after drinking a whole bottle, lmfao!).
...I have no idea how relevent any of this information is or whether you really care or not! In any case, it's a brief introduction to me and all my silly quirks. So there!

..

I'd like to meet:

..Interesting people who will expand my way of thinking and perhaps their own in the course of conversation (silly and serious) and sharing (sharing what ever you like, be it profound or pathetic!).
