About Me

The Muggies and Josh Paladini are one and the same. Coming on like an Elvis Costello/David Bowie fronted version of Blondie or The Cars, the sound of this one man is really more like a band. The upbeat, catchy tunes are offset by clever, colourful lyrics and punchy guitar solos, a callback to a bygone age of rock n’ roll with a concerted look toward the future. A former intern at Shelter Island Studios in Manhattan, the left-handed “ladies man” finally took his turn at professional recording in late 2007. A songwriter since the age of 14, Paladini taught himself to play drums, then guitar, bass and keyboards, all the while writing and home-taping his self-penned material. From drumming in local bands and playing bass in a Ramones tribute to playing solo acoustic gigs and making hip-hop records (in addition to working at a new/used record store for 7 years), Josh has been through many unique rock n’ roll experiences, The Muggies being the latest and most promising. “Digital Dynamite,” released in 2008, is a 10 track, 41 minute collection of passionate, witty rock n’ roll. Featuring the cuts “Briana Meets Shoshanna”, “Abbey Dabbles”, and “Booty Kitten”, this corking debut is already making waves in the powerpop scene. A strong British bent and a historian’s knowledge of rock history (a former Mensa candidate, his IQ has been measured at 153), combined with an overflow of charm and confidence, make Paladini a unique subject indeed; just don’t ask about his mother!***************************************************** *********** debut album, "Digital Dynamite" available NOW at cdbaby.com, itunes, and elsewhere
