About Me

I am: cynical & sincere, serious about absurdity, intolerant of intolerance (and little else), and a self-involved altruist. If you think these are contradictions, or that personalities can be understood in black/white logical terms, then chances are I won't make much sense to you. Doesn't mean we can't be friends.

This is pretty close to the kinds of daydreams I have:

My Interests

Synergistic syncretism, alliteration, evolutionary psychology, mysticism & theology, hiking, cultural anthropology, camping in the desert, neuroscience, globalization, the science of influence, yoga, movie editing for fun and profit, kayaking, essays, haikus, one-act plays I leave on people's away messages, fellowship with strangers, absurd humor, movies made for a purpose other than helping people escape reality, prolonged eye contact, comfortable silence

I'd like to meet:

humanists, aesthetes, lovers of learning, hard workers, passionate pragmatists, and the humble. However, all of the above traits are rendered null and void if you make the horrible mistake of taking yourself seriously. I have no patience for ponderous intellectuals/artists who are woefully burdened by the world and the magnitude of their own thoughts at age 20. I don't know what the weather's like over in Emoville, but where I come from the sun shines brightly and the birds sing loudly. Get over yourselves. If you're too busy chasing your tail to see the beauty of the world around you, then I'm afraid we won't have much to talk about. If you've lost your sense of humor then you are a human by name alone.

Know your dope fiend

There are few words in the English language which carry a worse connotation than "addict". In the glory days of prohibition and hilariously misinformed anti-drug propaganda, the word conjured images o...
