About Me

I started off my musical journey playing oboe and sax in high school. My life plan was to be a professional Oboe player but It took me a few years of College to realize that I really didn't like the oboe. I also realized that even if I did like oboe, and I was an amazing player, I still wouldn't be making very good money. So I changed my major to Finance.
I live in Moorpark CA and work in Westlake Village as an accountant.
I got into bass when an old high school friend asked me to be in his band. Some of those recordings are on my play list. It was a great band but people ended up going their separate ways. I worked on my MBA and recently finished it.
I study bass under Doug Ross out of Glendale www.dougross.net
I've been playing for about 3-4 years. I play fingerstyle and I slap for my own amusement. I can read, improve, walk blues, write parts etc... I am currently working on Jazz walking lines and progressing through the "slap it!" bass instruction book.
My Basses:
Ibanez RKB900- for slap and a Fender P style tone. It's orange and that is my favorite color.
Ibanez BtB510e- Can get a pretty good Fender J tone.
Carvin BB70F- Fretless with ebony fingerboard.
Cyr Custom- Fretless maplelisious. For acoustic gigs.
Odds and ends:
Yamaha QY-20- An old sequencer that can cut out the bass part of the mix. I program chord changes and drum beats into it for songs and then fill in the walking line. Worth it's weight in gold.
Zoom B2.1u- I just got this multi effects pedal. Does a bunch of cool stuff (including recording) I seem to be in love with the auto wah selections though.
Carvin Pro bass 100 amp- My practice amp. 10" woofer with 100 amps of horse power. It's small, light, and plenty loud. It also has direct out and such for connecting to PA systems.
Fender BXR300 bass amp- My amp for larger gigs that might not have a PA.
