Being a bastard works.

About Me

Apparently, I'm smart and cynical. That means I like to make clever observations about the obvious. You can IM me at sodisheartening. That has nothing to do with sod, you motherfuckers.Oh, and for the record: Yes Virginia, I am an asshole.

My Interests

Reading. I read a lot; far too much for my own good, even. It's pathological. I also write very bad poetry, because that's what angst-ridden twenty-somethings do. They pen angry little ditties that they can hide under their bed.

I'd like to meet:

There was some edgy "I'm so hip and full of angst it hurts me to be this cool" sort of shit here. However, hindsight being what it is, I've replaced it with a poem. Since I can't determine how to make Myspace recognize explosions, this is all there is to it.Haikus are fun. Bob I dance around with happy meals If you expected this to be right You're not.

Music:

Lots of music, all the time. Except for music that's bad. If it is bad, and you continue to play it in my presence, I will let you know. Generally, this means that the music will stop. Bands? U2, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Label Society, Rusted Root, Tool, Nirvana, Sick of it All, The Dropkick Murphys, The Lords of Acid, Jack off Jill, Live, Nine Inch Nails, Cradle of Filth, Creed (yes, Creed!), Jimi Hendrix, Credence Clearwater Revival, Weezer, Superjoint Ritual, Clutch, Johny Cash, Social Distortion, Godsmack, Sevendust, Pantera, The Dust Brothers, NOFX, Marilyn Manson, White Zombie, Metallica, Slayer, Powerman 5000, Staind, Alice in Chains, Guns & Roses, Atari Teenage Riot, Manmade God, American Pearl, Primus. I own too much music.

Movies:

Fight Club is one of the greatest movies that was ever based on a book. Much better than The Ten Commandments, although Charleton Heston was quite cool. Guns & Moses!

Television:

I don't watch TV! Hasn't anyone told you it gives you the cancer!? It also allows the CIA and the Zionist Conspiracy to control your brain! Actually, I watch the History Channel. And The Simpsons. God bless cartoons.

Books:

Textbooks. Hundreds of novels. Comic books. Philosophical treatises. Books of lies and collections of facts. Product labels. Anything that comes along and sits still long enough, actually. My favorites? Fight Club, The Lord of the Rings, anything by Neil Gaiman. That man is a true storyteller.

Heroes:

Spider Jerusalem. Jesus. Johnny Cash. My dad and Superman, of course. Also, I'm fond of that guy who does things. You know the one.

My Blog

Three's Company

I am so exciting!

No shit. I haven't updated this thing in months. As in, many of them. What can I say? I lead a dull life. But I do have a livejournal now (fucking peer pressure). http://www.livejournal.com/users/bata...

So, today marks the second day in a row that I've skipped work. No call, no note, nothing. I just didn't go. Yesterday, I had an excuse: I arrived on time, and there were six inches of snow in the ...

There's a purity in the snow. I'm looking out my window right now, and all i can see is a blanket of white. The light coming from the streetlamp is diffuse, reflecting off the falling snow. Walking...

It seems as if I am alone these days. My friends, such as they are, have vanished. Off to school, busy with work. Sometimes, they've just become different people. All of this, you can imagine, is ...

Today, a man came to my place of employment. He introduced himself as Paul, and went on to say that he worked for my boss's boss. My my, how impressive. Actually, he wasn't. He was a tool... Th...

Bored, bored, bored.

Today, I have become the Platonic Ideal of boredom. Somewhere, on some ideal Plane, an image of Me sits upon a Chair, tossing a Rock around under a blue Sky. Up, goes the Rock. Down, comes the Rock...

They never tell you that Hell is cold. Somehow, they never seem to get around to that in church. I guess they must feel that, with the fire and brimstone, cold kind of detracts from the whole sheban...

Glutton for Punishment

It looks like I'm actually gonna keep writing here. Wonderful; a place where I can psuedoanonymously post my thoughts, feelings, and rants. My girlfriend left for school today. Life is shit. T...

The second entry, eh? This makes me twice as dedicated than I have ever been to any other attempt at a journal. I would love this to be a Thompson-esque romp through the sideshow that is my mind, bu...
