About Me

Solo-acoustic singer/songwriter. This is where I tend to find myself. I think I hang out somwhere in the grey area between genres. Somedays I am country and other days I am Americana or folk. . . or whatever it is they are calling it now. The bottom line is I LOVE MUSIC. There has never been a day that I did not LISTEN to a song - if not on the radio, then in my head. There are pictures of me with a guitar slung around my neck @ 3 years old but, in all honesty, I couldn't really jam out back then and it probably didn't even have strings on it. I didn't take the guitar seriously until I was about 20, but it has been a beautiful relationship ever since. I write honest songs about my life and the people who are (or were) a part of it. If you listen to my songs, then you pretty much know me. They are a vulnerable opening to all that is inside.. I am blessed to have an awesome family and a truly wonderful group of friends that have always supported me in all that I pursue. I have learned that the good life is directly correlated to the love of those you keep close. That is why I married my wife. . . I knew that the most pure love I had ever experienced would lead to true happiness. Let me know if you like what you hear. I play a Taylor 410ce with Elixir strings (most of the time) and record with Phil Bright at SupEARior Sound in Louisville. If you get a chance to come to a show, I am sure you will stick around for the last song. Hand me a guitar and a tasty beverage , then go ahead and call in tomorrow!

Band Members: Acoustic guitar and vocals - Sean Hickey Backup vocals - everyone in the bar Percussion - Matt Seitz on "Away", "End Season", and "It's All Good".

Influences: There are so many musical influences. I grew up listening to everything from Jimmy Buffett to Johnny Cash and Don Williams to Leon Redbone. I am a sincere fan of James Taylor and I am still a dedicated Parrothead! Stevie Ray Vaughn can always strike up cold chills in me with a single note of "Lenny". I like a lot of the old Outlaw stuff and a some of the new country - Gary Alan, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Trent Tomlinson, Keith Urban, Jamie Johnson, and Dwight Yoakam (not so new). I truly admire the guys that continue to write their own songs. Grayson Capps. If you have not heard Grayson Capps, do yourself a favor and check out a show. I also really enjoy Jack Johnson, G. Love, Citizen Cope, John Butler Trio, Amos Lee, and O.A.R. There is still a plethora of good music out there that needs to be heard by the right people. . . Brigid Kaelin writes and sings beautiful songs. Nate Thumas is awesome with just an acoustic and a glass of bourbon. My good friend Chad Mullins has incredible vocals and banjo to boot! Also, look up Kelsey Waldon / Anchor in the Valley. She is a friend from Paducah, KY and that girl has got a unique style that is quite enticing! There is just so much to listen to but I am glad you chose to listen to me at this moment in your life. Thank you.
Sounds Like: . . . a good time!
