BAND BIO:
Rain began forming in March of 2001 when guitarist Tracy Fields met singer Steve
Leaton. They were working on acoustical material, when a month later they came into
contact with guitarist Paul Lugo [bass/guitars], and decided to put the band together.
Paul knew Anthony Trevino [percussionist] and knew that Anthony had been looking for
a group with complete realism.
They all got together just to test the chemistry for a new potential band, and the click
was instantaneous and strong! Paul and Anthony had both played in other local garage
bands together, and the power metal feel was all too familiar with the two. When
adding the fluid style of Tracy the bond between the band-mates was almost instant!
Most of the material they decided to play was all original, and this gave them an
incredible rush with live performances, except for Steve. After recording their first CD
"First Storm" Steve left the band.
After considering many local singers, trying to find someone who fit into the front of the
band [as well as had a good lyrical ability] proved daunting. Anthony decided since he
was already singing backup vocals for the band that he would try singing lead vocals.
Immediately the band discovered that everyone liked the sound!
Rain took the material they were already writing, beefing it up to match Anthony's
vocals, and the results were awesome! Things really began to come together for the
band! Being a three-piece rock band without a front man makes for an interesting show!
Initially people were not sure where the vocals were coming from, and sometimes you
could hear the crowd saying "WOW, the drummer is their singer!" Without a front man
Tracy and Paul use a unique intensity to bring the band's charisma to the crowd. The
result is a stage presence that leaves everyone wanting [and chanting] for more!
In February of 2005, Rain recorded their second CD titled “Rain†in El Paso, Texas with
the legendary Ed "Razor" Garcia. The CD received immediate local airplay and currently
plays on XM radio and several regional radio stations.
The last three years have been busy for Rain playing all over New Mexico and Texas.
Rain has developed an extensive and loyal fan base throughout the region, and draw
great crowds, as well as religious fans, to all their shows.
Their third CD is due out in mid 2008, and Rain wants to come to your venue to perform
their new material, as well as their known hits. If you have the time and the place, Rain
will definitely bring the storm!
