Music, Football - Huddersfield Town sometimes..., gigs, travelling, fine beers, seeing things, seeing people, usual stuff yeah?
At the moment I could exist with only two bands - the magnificent Badly Drawn Boy & Nirvana! But these also float my boat... Teenage Fanclub, Primal Scream, Nine Black Alps, Foo Fighters, Pulp, Killers, Embrace, Doves, Arctic Monkeys, Graham Coxon, Nick Drake, Rolling Stones, Ash, Beach Boys, Jet, Idlewild, The Cribs, Oasis, Kooks, Supergrass, Black Grape, The Jam, Bob Dylan, Magic Numbers, Beatles, Stone Roses, The Verve, Blur, British Sea Power, The Who, Green Day, Elbow, New Order. That kinda thing..ya know?
The best film ever is Back to the future, teh sequels are obviously brilliant but other than that I like stuff like....Sideways, Shawshank Redemption, Big, Kiss the Girls, Wedding Crashers, The Life of David Gale, Saving Private Ryan, Pirates (1 only - 2 was shite!) Starsky & Hutch, Dodgeball, Die Hard, Bourne Identity/Supremacy, Spiderman, The Shining....and so on and on and on.
I tend to devour non-fiction. I'll read anything but if its an autobiography of someone I admire/respect/am interested by then i'll finish it off in a day. Last month I read "Heavier than Heaven" which is the (incredible) Kurt Cobain biography. I could not put that thing down. I was absolutely spellbound by it. Inspiring, breathtaking and tragic. My most recent reads were Long way Down by Nick Hornby & A Curious Incident of the Dog In The Nightime. I enjoyed both a lot, the latter took me some time to get into and adjust to the style of writing but it was ultimately fulfilling and had an unexpected twist which fooled me - and I don't often get fooled by books or films!
Kurt Cobain, Noel Gallagher, Pawel Abbott. A fine set of role models indeed!
