Frequently asked questions:
C.C.M.T. asks that any rider wanting to participate in one of these rides meet the following minimum requirements: * At least 3,000 miles in the saddle. * That your motorcycle is in good running condition.
1.) Is this ride for beginners ?
Yes, but we would assume you have your own motorcycle (250cc or over) and it is in proper working order and you have put at least 3,000 miles on it. You will also need a valid motorcycle license and insurance.
2.) Who will be riding with us?
All instructors have a minimum of 20 years of street, mountain riding or racing under their belts. “Experience is the best teacher.”
3.) Why do riders get asked to leave the group on a ride ?
Riders that show they can’t control their machine or ride in such a manner that they are a “Safety Hazard” to the rest of the group will be asked to leave the ride. We will not tolerate some “SQUID” jeopardizing another rider's life. These rides are intended to be fun and educational at the same time. ( Safety is the number one concern : NO EXCEPTIONS )

4.) Who is responsible if I crash ?
“You are the only one that can be held responsible for your own actions or lack of “ Our rides can be mentality and physically demanding, because we are riding through the mountains and country roads and you never know what’s around the next corner. We want you to ride defensively, yet be able to be learn to ride the road while having fun at the same time.
5.) Will I learn anything from this ride ?
That will be up to you. How open you are to suggestions from the more Experienced Riders. We are here to aid you with information that we see is going on with your riding skills. How you apply the information given is always up to you. And if you are open to different tactics it just might save your life one day.

Ride Report / Review:
Florida Rider rides with C.C.M.T.
TO JC at C.C.M.T.:
Thank You for arranging my recent 2.5-day tour of the "byways" and sites of the Sierra Nevadas.
People say "A picture is worth a thousand words"...so, then, what is the RIDE worth?? PRICELESS.
Looking at the pictures you had posted on myspace was just not enough for this "straight road rider" from Florida, and the pictures did not compare with the experience of being there and riding those roads in person!
You were an informative tour guide and a patient coach.
I highly recommend C.C.M.T. to ANY rider who wants to experience the FUN of twisty roads and the SPLENDOR of the breath-taking views.
Thanks for all the riding advice and coaching.
To Blue Skies and Open Roads (and a full tank of gas!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Indiana Rider rides with C.C.M.T
I personally flew out to California in August, rented a Kawasaki Concours14 and road the "Epic" tours with JC for 5 days.
I can confirm that it was the most incredible motorcycle riding experience I have ever had in my life!!!!
I have ridden most of my life and really enjoy the twisties where ever I can find them, and I can say that trip was the twisty experience of a life time, and I will do it again!!!!
JC is a very a experienced rider/trainer/coach and the greatest person to ride and tour with.
It's all about what (you) want to see and do, as the guide JC will ride your pace/experience and cover as many miles and as much scenery that you want and are capable of each day!!!!!!
It's not like those set tours to here, then there and there, on the roads you can look at the map and do yourself.....
If your like me, it's at a "fun and enjoyable" pace on the "unknown" roads and the "back ways" to the most unbelievable sites in Central Calif....it's an experience of a lifetime for anyone that loves to ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have over 1000 pics posted from that trip, and a video of a portion of the "Epic" rides that I experienced while touring the
"Middle of Calif."
with CCMT.
So if this sounds like something you would like to experience, or you know someone that would, contact
JC
Enjoy the ride!!!!!!! ;-P
Demographics : Male age: 45-64
Great sights. JC made me feel at ease.
So the ride was not only very informative but fun.
I was able to learn easier and faster being in an atmosphere where I felt good about being there and not pressured into learning but encouraged.
When I did something wrong he took the time to explain to me how I should have done it.
When I did do it right the words "good job John" encouraged me to go on and try harder.
Demographics : Female age: 21-24
I learned so much and had a great time.
JC was very patient and fun to ride with.
He made me feel very comfortable and I felt very encouraged by him.
Demographics : Female age: 35-44
I am very glad I decided to take this ride. It improved my riding skills effectively and enhanced my "SAFE" riding skills, especially important when going from off road riding to street riding.
I would highly recommend this ride to anyone else that is considering riding a motorcycle and I am considering taking additional rides later.
Demographics : female age: 35-44
JC has an easy way of communicating instructions.
Over all a very positive experience.
JC is clearly a very passionate teacher / coach.
Thanks for the experience JC.
Demographics : Male age: 45-64
JC exceeded my "HEROES". Having been a CHP motor officer in the late 60's & early 70's I was looking for involved, concerned, knowledgeable guide and found a great teacher / coach.
I wish he was around when I was younger...
Thanks for the great time JC.....
C.C.M.T.
Most ride route are going year round.
We offer 19 different Rides / Tours for you to choose from or you could just let us supprise you =)
Below are just a few a few rides to choose from ;-)
Ride # 9 : "The Top "
This round trip ride can last anywhere between 8 - 10 hours.
Depart from Fresno / Clovis, California area at 8am and ride the back way through the High Country up towards Kaiser Pass, somewhere close to 10,400 feet. This ride offers up some breath taking sights and a ton of corners !!!!!
Ride #5 : “ Eagles Mountain”
From our meeting location we roll out of the valley along Hwy toward the foothills just minutes away…within moments we encounter a variety of cornering conditions from slow, long sweepers to quick, left, rights, with indeterminable sections in between. The country is open, becoming increasingly hilly , with more trees of greater variety , ranch country, farmsteads, cowboy country…horses, cattle, pick-ups, Skoal country. Then roll down into the canyon of the San Joaquin River, crossing broken bridge , we begin the canyon climb once again. While a little bumpy here and there, this road offers great views and technical riding to enhance your experience. Stopping at the exact center of California for a refuel and snacks we continue on up through several distinct botanical zones with awesome views looking back down into the river canyon. We stop for certain (and along the way when you wish) for a photo shoot looking far into the canyon , featuring stunning views of the high Sierras in the distance. Then, we saddle up and roll through pine forests and amazing scenery to a lonesome spot way back in those hills called, Jones Store, open only in the summer season as in winter there will be several feet of snow here on average. After a respite we roll down to a gorgeous lake for refuel and snacks and enjoy the route that circumvents the lake. Back down through even more wonderfully windy roads to our launch point once again. But we’re different now, than before we left.
Try it, you’ll see…
This ride offers up some breath taking sights and about a million corners !!!!!
Ride #4 : “ Thousand Corners “
From our meeting point we roll out of town almost immediately leaving civilization far behind. Skirting through the eastern fringe of the Big valley, through vineyards, orchards and rolling hills scattered with horses and cattle, then we’ll first stop for a refuel and snacks and get set for the next segment of this riding adventure. We will roll along an all-weather road that circumnavigates the northern perimeter of one of the many lakes located in the Sierra National Forest, offering distracting views of the lakes coves and tributaries amidst stunning natural beauty. We will stop here and there just to take it all in and for those photo’s you will wish to take. This area is absolutely exceptional in the Spring Season with abundant wildflowers and foliage in myriads of green, but the road is always fun to ride. We will roll along the Kings river at the furthest recesses of the canyon and return on a back country road with more stunning scenery as you run beside a stream flowing through floral meadows. Taking a nice twisty road we stop for gas and snacks and continue on, riding down this road cut out of the side of the cliffs help visualize wagons loaded with supplies headed for the mines and lumber camps further up the grade. We then head back to our starting point once again. Miles of smiles later, enhanced moto-operational skills, relaxed, refreshed, perhaps a little tired, but with lots of happy memories and a few dozen photos.
Note :
All C.C.M.T. rides are open to any and all motorcycles, no matter what make or model.
All C.C.M.T. rides are about safety first; therefore, all riders wanting to participate in one of our rides must have the same thoughts in mind.
