I am here for Friends

About Me

Hey. I'm Josh. I draw a lot. More than one probably should. I don't have enough time in a day for everything I need to do so if we know one another well I apologize for not keeping in contact. I draw so much I resemble a hermit. I hope you enjoy my portfolio. Please leave lots of comments. Constructive criticism is always appreciated as much as kind words. No one seems to comment them :)And now...Random Quotes from Albert Einstein (This is why some people love me and some hate me)...*Imagination is more important than knowledge.*It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education.*The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.*The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.*To punish me for my contempt for authority, fate made me an authority myself.*Yes, we have to divide up our time like that, between our politics and our equations. But to me our equations are far more important, for politics are only a matter of present concern. A mathematical equation stands forever.****Everything that is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can labor in freedom.*It is the duty of every citizen according to his best capacities to give validity to his convictions in political affairs.*Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.*The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them.*You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war.*Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices, but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence and fulfills the duty to express the results of his thought in clear form.*The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophe.

My Interests

Well, I'm interested in rock music, art of most kinds, bright and shiny things (although I seem to lose interest after a few seconds), searching for a way to give humanity peace of mind, national and international politics, analyzing everything around me and drawing. I don't do much but draw, watch "Weird" movies and listen to "Old" music.

I'd like to meet:

Hippies, politicos, artists...Pretty much anyone with passion that isn't still trapped in their box. And David Lynch and Mark Frost. We humans are a complicated bunch. I can't understand why a man like this is allowed to be made into a crazy lunatic by our corporate media giants. Hope for real change in the next four years died with his campaign. No matter what Obama says.

Music:

Trendy The Beatles Queen The Who Rage Against the Machine Muse Radiohead The White Stripes Bob Dylan Pink FloydI really hope someone stabs emo in the eye with a pitchfork someday soon...

Movies:

(Pretty much anything at the CIA Cinematheque)EVERYTHING EXCEPT DUNE DAVID LYNCH EVER MADE, Almost Famous, Tommy, Borat, Lynch, Oldboy, Palindromes, Happiness, Storytelling, Science of Sleep, Waking Life, A Scanner Darkly, The Beatles Anthology, US Vs. John Lennon, Chumscrubber, 3 Extremes...Plenty more, but I think you get the point. I love the movies that cause revelations and revolutions in my brain...And some that are just silly entertainment, obviously...You have to keep me sane somehow

Television:

Fuck your television. Twin Peaks on DVD over and over and over again. Trust me, go buy the definitive gold box set. You'll thank me.

Books:

"Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking." -Albert Einstein

Heroes:

David Lynch, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Tom Morello, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, Gandhi, Aaron Brooks, FBI Special Agents Dale Cooper and Gordon Cole, and my mother. The people who started my revolution and have been the fire under me ever since. Oh, and the guy that created Prismacolor colored pencils. He's definitely a hero to me...Saved my damn soul, he did.
