The Rebels Revenge story

The Rebels Revenge story started when HÃ¥kon Samland, a young guitar player(only 15 at that time)wanted to start a rock n`roll band.He searched everywhere to find some rockers of same adge who could play.It was not long before he met John Sindre Lynghaug.Sindre was the drummer of a local band called "Johnny and the corvettes" and HÃ¥kon asked if he would joyn his new band and play drums. And Sindre said that he would give it a try.A few weeks later HÃ¥kon had arranged the first band session, and Sindre show up whit his drum sticks. By Sindre`s supprise HÃ¥kon all ready had a drummer on the session, and he told Sindre that he realy needed a bass player insted. But Sindre had never touch a bass, and he could not play. Sindre finaly said that he could learn some basic bass riffs, and began practesing. The band`s line up then was:

This was September 1999, and the band was named "The Money Makers".The music style the band playd was a mixture of late 50`s rock n`roll and the more modern style of Teddy boy rock n`roll, covering artists like Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry,Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran and of course Crazy Cavan and the rythem rockers. But the main influence the band had was the Norwegian Teddy boy band "The Teencats". Sadly in February 2000 the band`s vokalist Jan Ove Undem quitted, leaving Håkon as the main vokalist. Shortly after the rythem guitarist Alfie Hansen quitted also. Thourgh 2000 and 2001 "The Money Makers" preformed at different rock n`roll show`s in both Norway and Sweeden, whit their new backing vokalist Øyvind Gossner. Early 2002 Håkon and Sindre was not satisfied by the way the band was going, and desided to desolve "The Money Makers" and start something brand new, whit new members.

The result was "Rebels Revenge". Named after a B-17 bomber, from the second world war. The line up was now:

By September same year the band desided to record their first album. So they went into the studio and recorded 10 songs. 9 self-penned and 1 cover (Footloose-never relised). The album was relised Desember that year(The cover art was made by Øyvind Gossner). Right after the album was relised the drummer Magnus Nilsen quitted. He was soon replaced by Roger Kristiansen. By the end of 2003 the rythem guitarist Joakim Høyland quitted too. He was replaced by Tom Rudi Jackobsen in January 2004. The end of 2003 the swedish rock n`roll company "Old rock records" got their intrest in the band and wanted to realise their new album on Old rock records. so the band went to Sweden and started too record. The new album was titled "Wild bunch boogie" after Norway`s biggest rock n`roll club "The Wild bunch". The album included 15 self penned tunes and was released in April 2004.Rebels Revenge playd a lot of gigs in Sweden that year. And began a re-recording of their first album, with 6 new bonus tracks, in September 04. the album was realised by "old-rock" in April 05 simply called "The First Album".They where also included in several complication albums that same year. In 05 the band was booked at many different festivals, in countries like Finland, England, Spain, Italia, Germany and France. The "rebs" are also working with a brand new album, for "Old Rock". A 10" Picture vinyl are also in production.
