Sounds Like: florida on a sunday mornin'
It's friday night a rain is falling. You hurry into the bar trying not to get wet. You take a seat near the stage and close your eyes. Your ears cant distinguish between the rasping of brushes on the drum heads and the rain falling against the window. The guitar lines are smooth and lyrical like a Paul Desmond alto solo. You notice a '57 Stratocaster propped up against a Delta Blues Amp and being a fan of Eldon Shamblin you can't wait to hear what Western Swing runs are going to be feverishly plucked from its strings. Not often do you see a ukulele playing effortlessly through a jazz tune but tonight you do. With his head leand in and his ear to the neck the bassist finds the pocket. As the last downbeat falls and the wave of sound crests the band jumps into "In the Mood" and the house starts rockin'. High-school and college kids dressed in vintage clothes take to the dancefloor jitterbuggin' as if it was 1945 and our boys had all just come home.
