ELECTRIC PSYCHEDELIC ZOMBIE BLUES

About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting

After revamping it's lineup, the GC Rivers Band has returned with new influences and inspirations, and has re-invented itself. While still heavily blues oriented, the band's repertoire now includes Caribbean and Latin Jazz flavors, seamlessly mixed in with blues-rock and original compositions.
Taking bass duties is the "Bajo Cubano" Jose Emilio Barroso, owner of a powerful tone (some say reminiscent of Jaco) that is wonderfully complemented by Terry Smith on drums. Terry's style is an eclectic mix of Jazz, Blues, R&B and Island rythm that drives the band smoothly. To further add to the jazzy flavor, saxophonist Mr. David Hill has joined forces with the boys. Lead vocals and guitar continue to be manned by G.C. Rivers.
The band hosts a popular, well-attended open blues and rock jam every Thursday at Jake's in Hallandale Beach Boulevard, beginning at 9 pm. and ending after the last musician has played.
