About Me

Hi, I'm Gary and I'm from our nation's glorious capital, Los Angeles California. I'm a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona and I am a professional sports photographer in the Southern California area, as well as expanding around the Western U.S. I got into photography when I was 14, took a hiatus in college, and got back into it my 3rd year doing a short stint stringing for the school paper. I've come a long way, and can't wait to see what else comes. Some of my work so far has been featured in the L.A. Times, USA Today, Indianapolis Star, The Charlotte Observer, ESPN.com, ESPN The Magazine, USA Today Sports Weekly, NASCAR Scene, CBS Sportsline, and Sports Illustrated.
So far during the course of my photography career, I have shot college, prep sports, Major League Baseball (Angels and Dodgers), FIFA Gold Cup Soccer, NHL hockey (Anaheim Ducks) which includes playoffs and the Stanley Cup Final, Champ Car Racing which includes the Long Beach Grand Prix, and NASCAR racing. I hope soon to cover other professional sports, which include NFL football, and Formula 1 racing. I want to make photography my primary career, as I see my business degree as something to fall back on.
I'm a pretty serious person, and I tend to have a serious face on most of the time. People must assume I am a mean person just by looking at my face, but I am not. I don't need to be something I am not for people to like me. I'm not like most 26 year olds who sag their pants and put up a front to be appreciated, that's just gay. I like to work my ass off for things, because in the end I'll appreciate it more than if it were handed to me. I admire those who have had to overcome hurdles whether in their career or life, and come out on top.
I like a lot of things. I like Photography of course, Red Robin, sports, racing, Formula 1, NASCAR, DVD's, home audio, Playstation, reading, writing, technology, sportsshooter.com, vanilla, sleeping in, pulling all-nighters, photographing sports, remote cameras, Subaru, Ferrari, World Rally, Ipod, learning new things, meeting cool people, people who share the same interests as I, willing people, people willing to understand me, people who aren't prideful, judgemental or cynical, cool people, Los Angeles, cold weather, and countless other things.

Create your own Friend Quiz here

I'd like to meet:

Other photographers whom I can collaborate new ideas with, people I went to school with, from grade school to college, ambitious people with goals in life and work hard to achieve them, fun girls who like to have fun, laugh, and are up for anything. Ideally I'd like to find a girl that's into racing and sports, not just herself and how many pairs of shoes she owns.

Also, I'm not in the business to add 20,000 friends. Just don't send an add request. Send me a message, and I'll reply back, it may give me a reason to add you or not.

I'd also like to meet my cousin's from Guatemala, David Beckham, Darren Heath, Rainer Schlegelmilch, Paul Henri-Cahier (Famous F1 photographers), Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, Kiefer Sutherland, Tucker Max, Jack Bauer, Chloe O'Brian, Chris Hansen, Maria Sharapova, Kevin Bacon, Rafael Nadal, Peyton Manning, the guy who invented Wikipedia.com, and anyone else cool!

And in terms of a girl, one who doesn't find me complicated, is supportive of my career, and can tolerate me traveling a lot because of it.

INTJ -The Mastermind
You scored 18% I to E, 42% N to S, 66% F to T, and 26% J to P!
You are more introverted than extroverted. You are more intuitive than observant, you are more thinking based than feeling based, and you prefer to have a plan rather than leaving things to chance. Your type is best described by the word "mastermind", which belongs to the larger group called rationals. Only 1% of the population shares your type. You are very strong willed and self-confident. You can hardly rest until you have things settled. You will only adopt ideas and rules if they make sense. You are a great brainstormer and often come up with creative solutions to difficult problems. You are open to new concepts, and often actively seek them out.

As a romantic partner, you can be both fascinating yet demanding. You are not apt to express your emotions, leaving your partner wondering where they are with you. You strongly dislike repeating yourself or listening to the disorganized process of sorting through emotional conflicts. You see your own commitments as self-evident and don't see why you need to repeat something already expressed. You have the most difficulty in admitting your vulnerabilities. You feel the most appreciated when your partner admires the quality of your innovations and when they listen respectfully to your ideas and advice. You need plenty of quiet to explore your interests to the depth that gives you satisfaction.

Your group summary: rationals (NT)

Your type summary: INTJ

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 25% on I to E

You scored higher than 52% on N to S

You scored higher than 74% on F to T

You scored higher than 11% on J to P

Music:

I like anything that sounds good. I enjoy hearing my sister play her flute, she's pretty good at it. I also like Oasis, Billy Idol, Huey Lewis, INXS, No Doubt, Gwen Stefani, Aerosmith, pre-80's Elton John, Queen, Linkin Park, U2, Tears for Fears, The Cars, The Killers, Radiohead, Postal Service, classical music, Bloc Party, John Williams, Crystal Method, 80's Music.

Movies:

My all time favorite movie is Boiler Room. I like it because the story is original and it has a good plot and dialog. Other movies I like are Platoon, the National Lampoons vacation movies, American Beauty, Outbreak, Silence of the Lambs, Terminator 1 and 2, Predator 1 and 2, Backdraft, Speed, UHF, Man on Fire, Grand Prix, Revenge of the Nerds, Anchorman, Platoon, Top Gun, Commando, Back to the Future trilogy, the Star Wars series, Pulp Fiction, Office Space, Forrest Gump, Private Parts, Jackie Brown, Swingers, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Snow White, Misery, Any Given Sunday, Gone in 60 Seconds, Die Hard 1 and 3, The Rock, Goodfellas, Scary Movie, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Jurassic Park 1,2 and 3, Rudy, Casino, and others I could list here.

Television:

I don't watch too much TV. It basically sucks. The only thing I really do watch on television these days is 24 when it's on, Formula 1 racing, NFL and College football, NASCAR, hockey, Dateline NBC, and 60 minutes. Television is too conformed these days with reality shows and pussy whipped girlie shows. Also, 60 minutes isn't what it is anymore without Mike Wallace. He was a badass journalist without being afraid to ask whatever questions to anyone regardless who they were.

Books:

I enjoy reading and looking at Formula 1 racing magazine. I read it to follow up on what's going on in F1, and to also look at the photos. Other magazines I like are Sports Illustrated, Popular Science, Top Gear. In terms of actual books, I like, I read Art of War, a book people should read, it's really good. I also have a liking to Tucker Max, his current book "I hope they serve beer in hell".

Heroes:

Anyone who has overcome adversity and trials to achieve their goals.

Also, my dad and sister, for the hard working people they are.

Not to mention the fellow photographers who take it one step ahead, and who's work I look up to, and have so far helped me out in terms of my career.

And in terms of fictional characters, Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian.

And Howard Stern and Chris Hansen also.
